               Rick Peterson has worked as a sportswriter for the Topeka Capital-Journal for 12 years.  His excellent coverage of meets during the wrestling season as well as writing columns and features on participants and coaches, earns him the Media of the Year award.

               Peterson attended Southwestern College in Winfield, KS to get his B.A. degree.

He has previously worked at the Baldwin Ledger as the sports editor for 2 years and the Ottawa Herald as the sports editor for 7 years.

               Peterson says, “I believe that any publicity that we can give student/athletes in any sport is well worthwhile.”
