Fidelis Millan of Norton is one of this year’s recipients of the Media of the Year award. Millan works for KQNK Radio as a sportscaster on a part-time basis and Nex-Tech as a Communication Account Specialist on a full-time basis. He has provided much wrestling coverage on the air for the past seven seasons.

Millan follows the Blue Jay wrestling team to their tournaments all around Kansas and into Nebraska to provide for the many loyal listeners match-by-match results and interesting facts about these tournaments.

Millan, who graduated from Fort Hays State University, has been pleased to see the growth of radio coverage for the sport of wrestling.

“I have broadcasted at the 4A state tournament and the 321A state tournament and every year there are more radio stations doing coverage of the tournament,” he commented. “It is a great feeling that radio is playing a big part in the lives of the wrestlers and their fans.”
