SHAWN SILVIS
University of Central Oklahoma
Shawn Silvis ended a fantastic career with three All-American honors and two national titles for the University of Central Oklahoma. He put together a 41-4 record in his senior y ear and a 131-28 career record. He went 104-12 in his final three seasons.
Silvis also was a three-time Midwest Region champion and was named the 2003-04 Midwest Region Wrestler of the Year.
He is majoring in General Studies with a possibility of going into Education. He currently is serving as a student assistant coach for the Bronchos. As another point of interest, Silvis was recently married this past summer and had proposed to his wife during a wrestling dual his senior year.
At Augusta High School, Silvis had a brilliant prep career for the Orioles. He was a four-time state placer, winning two state gold medals and putting together a career record of 107-10. His senior year he was a perfect 28-0 with 21 falls. He also lettered twice in football at Augusta.
