Daryl Loyd and his fellow St. Francis assistant coach Steve Jenkins are winners of this year’s 321A Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Loyd and Jenkins helped lead St. Francis to a 5-1 dual record, 11-1 overall record, and an NWKL championship. The team won tournament titles at Brush, Wray, Republican Valley, and Sterling; finished second at St. Francis, league, and state; and finished third at regionals. The squad also had eight state qualifiers and six state placers.

Loyd has been a SFHS assistant for seven years.

As a wrestler, Loyd placed third, first, first, and second at state. He participated on an Iran Tour in 1978 and was a NJCAA national qualifier in 1983 for Colby Community College.
