6A Assistant Coach of the Year - 2005

Joey Vrana is a co-winner of the 6A Assistant Coach of the Year award, with coaching staff member Brett Means.

Vrana helped lead Goddard to tournament titles at the Emporia Winter Classic, the Goddard Invitational, and Regionals. The team had 11 state qualifiers and four placers, as well as the school’s first ever three-time state champion in Tommy Edgmon.

Vrana has been an assistant coach with Goddard since 2000.

He was a 2000 graduate of McPherson High School, and received a B.S. in Business from Wichita State University in 2005.
