ARON WIECHMAN
Olathe
Aron Wiechman of Olathe was selected by the KWCA as this year’s Official of the Year. Wiechman has worked as a Kansas wrestling official for 11 years.
Wiechman attended Scott City High School, graduating in 1994. He then attended the University of Kansas, earning a B.S. in Business in 1999.
He wrestled for 13 years in kids club, middle school, and high school at Scott City. He began his officiating career immediately after high school.
Wiechman placed fifth at the 4A State tournament at 119 pounds in 1993. He was a member of the 4A state runner-up squad that year and on the 4A state championship team in 1994 under coach Jon Lippelmann.
As an official, he has been selected to work the 456A State Tournament for seven consecutive years and was chosen for the Kansas City Metro Classic as the Kansas official.
