Ninth-year official Kevin McCullough is one of the three Official of the Year award winners for the KWCA this year. McCullough, who currently lives in Bonner Springs, has been certified with the KSHSAA for nine years and as an NCAA wrestling official for three years.
McCullough was a successful multi-sport athlete both in high school and college. At Atchison County Community High School, he was 134-6 with 100 pins, placing third, third, second, and second. He was also a three-time state medalist in cross country and a two-time state medalist in track, as well.
McCullough attended Fort Hays State University, where he was a three-sport letterwinner in cross country, wrestling, and track.
McCullough was a strong student, as he was an honorable mention Academic All-American at FHSU, and graduated summa cum laude in 2000. McCullough was class valedictorian at ACCHS in 1996. McCullough graduated in 2004 with a Doctorate of Pharmacy from KU.
