National Champion Aaron Meister ended his collegiate career with his third All-American honor and fourth trip to the national tournament.
Meister was a national qualifier as a freshman at Labette Community College, and followed that performance with a junior college national title at 174 pounds as a sophomore. Meister went 16-5 and 26-3 at Labette.
He then chose Fort Hays State University as his next college choice and added two more All-American trophies to his shelf. He went 27-6 to place fourth and also 24-8 to place fifth.
Meister was named the Male Athlete of the Year at Labette in 2003 and was a two-time Academic All-American. He won two RMAC West Regional titles, also.
At Holton High School, Meister qualified for the 4A state tournament four years, placing 5th twice and finishing with a 126-27 record.
Meister is currently finishing his schooling at FHSU and serving as a grad assistant wrestling coach for the Tigers.
