6A Senior Wrestler of the Year - 2006

NATHAN THIBAULT
Maize High School

An exciting senior season that ended in a state title garnered Maize High’s Nathan Thibault the 6A Senior of the Year Award.

Thibault went 38-2 in his senior campaign. He was first team all-league and won tournament titles at Emporia, Blue Valley Northwest, Goddard, Newton, and Regionals. He finished second at Tulsa Union, also.

Thibault was a state qualifier at 125 pounds, was fourth at 130 as a sophomore, and a state runner-up at 145 as a junior. He also won two regional titles and was second at regionals as a sophomore.

Thibault is currently in the Air National Guard, leaving for basic training in January. He is attending Cowley County in the EMT program and is considering wrestling in college next year. He is considering a major in sports medicine.
