I think 6A 135 is slightly tougher.

Means - State Champion
Nelson - State Champion
Wagner - State Runner-up
Livengood - 3rd at State
Gonzalez - 3rd at State
Winger - 6th at State
Peoples - Ranked #2 in 6A

I would have to go with 119 lbs or 189 lbs in 321A
5 returning state placers at each weight and lots of depth in each of those weight classes state wide.

6A 135 is pretty stacked. it will be fun to watch how that one ends up. 321A 119 is tough, but its not even close to some of the other weight classes in the state.

i think 4a 119 is the hardest. Sorry no offense to the 5a and 6a class, but it is much much easier to place there than at 4a. 6th at state and 3rd at state in 6a is not nearly as hard as lets say 3-6th place at 4a. Just my humble opinion

that bracket is also very tough too. I don't think you can say that about 5a. 5a was very tough last year, with some very loaded brackets. But i do agree with that 4a is a very tough class and maybe one of the toughest out of all of them. 4a and 5a is usually always the toughest i think. But it all depends on the weight classes some of the time because some can be very loaded in a classification and some other classification can be very weak. So it all depends on the year.

yea cowboy i will agree with you on that. 5a was very tough last year. But sometimes 5a is also weak. Not last year though. Definately 5a and 4a are the toughest. 4a is still harder though, i have yet to see a year when 4a is weak, and i dont think it will ever be b/c it has so many schools.

There are a lot of ways to skin this cat. I'm just curious; which 4A or 321A regional would Bishop Carrol, Valley Center, Derby, Goddard, or Manhattan not win? I know that there are a ton of talented wrestlers at all levels, and I know that there have been years when the top teams in the smaller classes were the best anywhere in the state. I just don't think it's so right now. Now, the 12th best kid in 6A and 5A state brackets are most likely not as good as the 12th best kid in 4 & 321A state, but I don't think you rate how tough a division is by how the second tier does. Maybe you do, I'm just not sure why.

Please don't take this as disrespect towards any team or wrestler in the state. I've coached 321, 5, & 6A and wrestled in 4A. Tough wrestlers are tough wrestlers. Period. I'm amazed at how small communities like Hoxie, Clay Center, Norton, and many others can put such tough kids on the mat so often. I'm also amazed at how many people bash the big classes because they are not 32 teams deep. No class in Kansas is.

Good luck to ALL wrestlers this weekend. Go wrestle hard and make memories, not regrets. Leave it all on the mat.

I am not bashing any other divisions. I am just stating my opinion. Yes those teams are very good, infact almost unstoppable and they do very well at the 5a and 6a levels. BC would win at any divison idk anyone who can argue that, they are the best team in the state of Kansas. I guess you can say im rating second tier, but im really not. Im just stating thats its harder to place in 4a than any other divison. Yes you put those teams in 4a and yes most they would have champions no doubt. 5a and 6a have great teams and wrestlers dont get me wrong, i think that 4a just has more depth, more good wrestlers than any divison . Sorry if i offended anyone in this statement, but i am a little bit, just tad bit biased to 4a.

You certainly did not offend me. I love these discussions, and you are as entitled to your opinion as anyone. That's what makes this nation great. I would say that often, it is harder to make it to state in 4A (and 321A), but being a champion or high placer is no tougher.

Yea i totally agree winning state is no different in any division, if that was the case then my edge would go to 5a cause they would have the most champions if we had a grand state(cough cough needs to happen again lol cough cough). But yes 4a and 1a-3a is much harder to make it, not win it theres no difference there.

I'll take the bet on the 4A Regional at Clearwater. I don't think Manhattan or Valley Center would either one win that regional.

Oh man, I did forget how dang tough Colby is this year (again). I know there's never a lock on a tournament, but it's a fun topic. Good luck to ALL.
