When and where will they be competing this year? I think an open tournament held at one of the schools could bring some publicity to the fact there's no DI wrestling in Kansas and large segment of the Kansas population wants it. How does one make contributions to the club teams? These guys are the "faces" of the bring DI wrestling to Kansas movement. We need to promote and support.

This is a great idea. Would love to see a tournament at one of the schools. Hopefully after or before the start of the H.S. Season in order to help show the schools of the high school talent within the state that they are missing out on.

Manhattan wrestling club used to hold their "holiday" kids tournament at Ahern. I think they ran into scheduling problems the past couple years. But, it would be nice to get it back there and add a "college" age division to this tournament as well.

Agreed...they can run a kids open and a college open like they do at OU, although OU's is technically high school and college divisions.

Sounds like some very good ideas.
Jeff, I am not sure exactly how to contribute to these two clubs yet. Hopefully we will find this out in the near future.

Contact Erik Hinckley he is the liason basically for the KSU team and is in Manhattan as an Army Recruiter. His email is Erik.Hinckley@usarec.army.mil I know he was saying he needed some special help like printing up stuff, alumni contacts and other such.

I know they do. You might want to try to contact the HPERD department at KU for more information.

It's just as serious and has officers that are elected each year. The problem is how the club is run, so there are just fewer wrestlers. MAW seems to have it in for the club because he got cut from a team somewhere along the line. The club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 I think, at the rec center. I don't know when practices will start up again, but that's when they were last year.

Man KU doesn't need to be cutting anybody from a club team they have bad enough participation rates at the NCWA Nationals as it is.

Yeah after I quit, I think there were 4 left that qualified, with only one winning a match. So no, they don't cut anyone, because it would be more than 10% of the team.

And I think that a couple of those four that qualified only qualified due to lack of competition at their regional.
