All of 4 of these wrestler at these weights have great shots of placing at state plus who have to rem. that Josh Hogan was at 95 but who hurt and didnt wrestle subs he is a 2x State Champ and then at 100 Trevor Leahy 2x State Champ was sick and didnt wrestle subs so these weights could be even a lot tougher.

1. Paul Hanson Turner
2. Nick Shumate EKS
Chet Mercer Columbus vs Justin Broadbent (dont know who won)

14u 100
1. Larry Perez Top

3. Lorezo Mundy SFT
4. Marc Somers EKS

smith, district 1 is usually the toughest district however, i'm not saying that the other districts are not tough. Ones to look out for at states are; Patterson, Vantrece, Tanenbaum, Long. There are other semi tough wrestlers out there also you just have to take it to them to place at states. You will probably have Patterson your second match if you win your first one. He is a tough wrestler but if you score ponits on him he gets shaken up you just have to take it to him and you can beat him. If you wrestle hard at states im guessing you will probably place but you will have to win some tough matches. Good luck to all at states.

District 1 should dominate these weights at State.

VanTrece beat Tannenbaum at subs 6-8 in overtime, he beat him again at District 10-2, have heard that Patterson and Kriss are also very good wrestlers. Good-Luck to all

Iowa Fan:

Did I understand you correctly? You are saying that (in general) District 1 is the toughest District in the State?

Hmmm... let's look at last years results:

Placers:
D-1 170
D-2 173
D-3 138
D-4 123

Champs:
D-1 31
D-2 36
D-3 28
D-4 9

Finalists:

D-1 54
D-2 72
D-3 54
D-4 27

Top 3 Placers
D-1 85
D-2 100
D-3 77
D-4 47

Total Team Points:
D-1 1089
D-2 1244
D-3 953
D-4 628

And I don't see a District 1 team in the points till you get to 9th place.

P.S. Similar results in 2001, except D-2 romped D-1 in the champs category to the tune of 39 to 25, and a D-1 team did make 8th place.

Bulldog Dad:
I guess you misunderstood what the previous posts meant. They are discussing the 12 and under and 14 and under 90,95,100,105 brackets. My nephew Mat Noblet is in the 100 lb. bracket and has wrestled 105 for most of the year. I have seen some of the best wrestling in these weight classes that I have seen in a long time. These are tough kids. I wouldn't be at all surprised if District 1 does not dominate these classes. I think that was the intention of the discussion.

Yes District 2 is always really tough but they are not talking about the overall toughtest district they are talking about this group of weights that have been so tough over the last couple of years these groups of wrestlers are good. Last year this wrestlers were in 12u and from weights 80, 84, 88, 92 out of these weights 13 of the 16 state qualifiers placed at state. At 12 84 last year you had good wrestlers like Jacob Tanenbaum, and Matt Meinert not make it to state because they were in the district that had four state placers. Now all these wrestlers have moved up in weight to 95-105. I am not saying that these weights will have everybody place but I wouldnt be suprise if they have a couple of high place finishers.

No, I was following the thread just fine, and understood the original intent. I have seen many years where a particular age/weight was dominated by one district. And it could be ANY of the four. But then I read:

.

I had to take exception to that.

BTW, I don't really place that much stock in team champion, as that is often a function of overall team size. Many small/medium clubs have performed
admirably over the years, but just didn't have enough State Qualifiers to be in the points running.
