For the most part, State was a great experience for all of our wrestlers. Unfortunately (In the staging area)immediately before the finals parade the accompanying adult (Dad? Coach?)with the 8/95 pounder that faced our 8/95 competitor thought it necessary to intimidate Justin by saying, "My boy has been wrestling kids bigger than you all year long and he will beat you easy! " (A fine thing to say to an 8 year old kid who is coincidently one of the nicest around.) Luckly for Justin, what this man failed to realize is that in order to win the upcoming match his "boy" would have to score at least one point. It is nice to see that once in awhile this type of negative behavior does backfire, and the best wrestler does prevail!
Way to go Justin and congratulations on a well deserved victory!
What a year - NO points scored on you during the District tournament, NO points scored on you at the State tournament and UNDEFEATED for the entire season.
