Van Hee inks pair to wrestling in 2007-08
(Nov. 21, 2006) Western State head wrestling coach Miles Van Hee has announced the signing of a pair of high school seniors to wrestling for the Mountaineers in the 2007-08 season.
Hollan Gravley and Adam Almaguer both signed National Letters of Intent last week.
Gravley, from Colony High School in Palmer, Alaska, is regarded as one of the Top 150 seniors in the Nation. In three years of high school, Gravley is a three-time State and Regional Champion and has a 115-7 record as a prep.
“He is very solid and explosive,” Van Hee said. “He’s a huge addition to our program and should have an immediate impact.”
Almaguer wrestles at Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kan. Almaguer is a three-time State place, earning second as a junior and freshman and third a s sophomore. Almaguer is 104-18 heading into his senior campaign.
“Adam’s also a real solid wrestler,” Van Hee said. “He’s got a lot of potential and with a year in our wrestling room he can really develop into a solid wrestler.”
The Mountaineers are currently ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Division II rankings.
