Redskin wrestlers get 8 pins, beat Ulysses

Joe Bach and Ralph Salas remained perfect on the young wrestling season, each scoring pins to help the Redskins defeat Ulysses in dual competition Tuesday at Ulysses.
Eight of the 14 bouts were won by Liberal pins.
The Redskins jumped out to an early lead, winning the first five matches by pins.
After Salas earned his win at 103 lbs., Adam Meacham (112 lbs), Marcos Magallanes (119 lbs), Victor Cruz (125 lbs.) and Austin Peterson (130 lbs.) each pinned their opponents.
Joey Guajardo (135 lbs.) dropped his match by pin, and Jonathan Castro (140 lbs.) dropped an 18-2 decision.
Tyler Sutherland (145 lbs.) put the Redskins back on the win side of the column by pinning his opponent.
Tim Dinh (152 lbs.) dropped a narrow decision, 11-10.
Ivan Morales (160 lbs.) also dropped a close match, 8-7.
Blake Abbott (171 lbs.) and Nate Davis (189 lbs.) were each pinned, and the Redskins were up 36-29 heading in to the final two matches.
Bach (215 lbs.) put the dual away with a pin, and Ricky Gomez finished the action with a heavyweight pin.
