Below is today's KC Star Article with some scores. The newspaper should have mentioned Both Aquinas and Goodard were missing some guys and looks as if both teams will get stronger in February. There were some great matchups and looks like a few of the young men from some of the other 5A and 6A teams may see each other again this year.
Team effort helps Saints St. Thomas Aquinas, with no individual winners, captures BV Northwest invite. By TEREZ A. PAYLOR The Kansas City Star St. Thomas Aquinas winning the Blue Valley Northwest Husky Wrestling Invitational on Saturday was no surprise — it hasn’t lost a tournament all year. But for the first time this season, Aquinas didn’t have anyone win their weight class. The Saints had six wrestlers in the finals, and all of them finished in second place. However, those performances — plus the four third-place finishes they also received — ended up being more than enough to capture the team title, as the Saints scored 216.5 points and won by more than 20 points. R.J. Nill, who lost to Romero Cotton of Hutchinson in the championship match of the 171-pound weight class, was surprised by the individual performances of the Saints in the finals, but said that it didn’t matter nearly as much as winning the event. “The most important thing to us is the team score,” he said. “But this was a real eye-opener for us. There are always tough kids out there, and that’s why you wrestle, to face those really good wrestlers. We needed it.” Aquinas finished ahead of several of the state’s top teams, including Goddard, which was second with 195 points, and Hutchinson, third with 183.5. Furthermore, the Saints were able to do it with less than a full lineup. They had open slots in three weight classes, as Jimmy Bryant (103 pounds), Connor McCarthy (119 ) and Jake Walker (125 ) all sat out because of injury or illness. Gardner Edgerton, which finished in fifth place, proved it was no pushover either. The Trailblazers, who are also one of the best teams in Kansas 5A, had four wrestlers — Tyler Stokes, Aldon Isenberg, Aaron Berscheidt, and Keith Curtis, finish first in their weight class. BV Northwest senior Lance Serbousek won the 152-pound division by pinning Brandon Bonewell of Goddard, who is ranked No. 1 in his weight class in 6A. Koty Russell (112) of Lawrence Free State and Paulie Hansen (119) of Turner also took home first-place finishes.

Top ten team scoring listed in KC Star:
1. St. Thomas Aquinas 216.5 2. Goddard 195 3. Hutchinson 183.5 4. Maize 154 5. Gardner Edgerton 135.5 6. BV Northwest 105.5 7. Lawrence 79.5 8. Lawrence Free State 77 9. Blue Valley 76 10. Newton 74
Congratulations to Gardner Edgerton on the four first places in this tournament. That is pretty impressive accomplishment in this tournament.

Zach is during much better. He is not as strong in his left side as his right. He should be leaving ICU on today and placed in a room with hopes of returnig to Topeka on Monday. The Doctors could not find and damage. After reviewing his MRI it appears he bursied spine. Right now all he wants to do is have a hot meal. Thanks for asking.
