I have had the pleasure to talk with Mangino (When at OU). He recruited a couple of our heavyweights. The funny thing was he didn't recruit them until he saw them at an Oklahoma wrestling tournament and realized how good their balance and foot work was. One of the wrestlers was Robert Palmer who played at Missouri, the past 3 years.

I think once you start worrying about the "injury" that may or may never occur that is when you're going to become injured. I think it's a big mistake to tell a kid not to wrestle or do any sport because "they might get hurt". You want them fearless on the football field but then you've put that doubt in their mind about getting injured, where before athlete might not of ever thought about it. Wrestling is probably what made him the football player that he is today. To just watch a wrestling practice is incredibly painful and requires so much toughness. Why wouldn't a football coach want his kids wrestling and bring that to practice? But then again I saw Zlatnick when we played them in football and I wouldn't want my football recruit going against him either. Maybe Foster beat them when they were younger but Zlatnick is a true heavyweight, not a 215 who doesn't want to cut wt.

I don't think Foster is worried about Zlatnick. He has nothing really to worry about if he has a signed LOI to play football. Maybe he just wants to lift like crazy and start immediantly, although he might be afraid of Alex Thomas!

I find it funny that now every one knows that Steven will not be wrestling this year, that people are calling him scared of them. I did not hear anyone talking like that before they knew he quit. Be carefull on what you wish for....it may come true!!!
