This should turn out to be a tough tournament. I think the toughest weight classes will be 130, 135, and 140. A lot of tough guys in those brackets. Any thoughts?

This is always a fun tournament to watch. I agree with you. I think 135 will be good.

Last I checked not all the team rosters had been completed online by the coaches.

I will check again tonite and hope to have the tournament online tomorrow morning after 09:00 A.M. to check the entries.

Seeding meeting will not begin until 12:30 P.M.!

An entry at 135 lbs. who was looking forward to a rematch with the Eureka 135 lber. will not be cleared by the doctor to wrestle.

Not sure at this point if he will be cleared by Regionals, however we do hope so.

Don't listen to me. I'm just an old wrestling fan that doesn't know much. But a couple of weeks ago at Halstead I saw some good wrestlers. At 103 I like the Circle kid. At 135 theres a bunch. Douglas kid, Fredonia kid, and I was going to say Circle, but I guess he won't be there, and several others. Tough weight to call. And at 140, he wasn't at Halstead, but watch for the Eldorado kid.

I saw Eureka at Minneapolis tournament, and if that same crew shows up, watch out! The are big point scorers from 103-135.

I was at the high school all day assisting with preparation for the tournament and I apologize for not providing the link.

I am updating the results to the website by the round and will attempt to update the finals matches in as close to real time as possible.

Thank you for providing the link!

17th Annual Circle Invitational

Congratulations to Ryan Patterson for being named Outstanding Wrestler.

Congratulations to the Circle High School administration and Coaches Bottorff, Mattern and Saferite for winning the tournament team championship for the first time in school history.

There has been a concerted effort to improve the program in a predominately basketball town, and finally the coaches and kids have been rewarded for all their hard work.

That's a very impressive win for Circle. They were also missing a good wrestler in Salyer, whom would have surely scored a few more points for them to spread the gap a little bit. I'm wondering now how they'll do at regionals.

Should be interesting to see. Hopefully they can keep it up. Coach Bottorf has brought this program a long ways from what I remember in the late 90's early 2000's.

Do they still have that itty bitty wrestling room on the corner of the small gym?

Good job Circle.
Kids wrestling injured, kids down on the score, but coming back and pinning their guy late in the finals. They all seemed to know they needed every point. And the Circle home crowd...LOUD and supportive. Glad I went.
Also, The Wichita Indy kid at 135...very impressive.
