I thought it would be interesting to see how many ranked teams people have on their schedules. There is no hidden meaning behind this, I just thought it could be interesting.
Goddard saw 18 ranked Kansas teams this year (according to the most recent rankings). They were:
6A: Garden City 3rd Derby 4th Wichita NW 6th Wichita South 7th Lawrence Free State 8th Washburn Rural 9th Blue Valley 10th
5A STA 1st BC 2nd Hutch 3rd Gardner-Edgington 5th Emporia 6th Ark City 7th Great Bend 8th Shawnee Heights 10th
4A: Andale 2nd Rose Hill 4th Andover Central 8th
I may have missed a couple, and many of these teams are seen on multiple dates. This seems down a little from last year because of missing the Colby Duals. I can't believe there was not a Goddard/Valley Center match up. This has been a great rivalry.
Goddard also saw some good out of state teams (Ponderosa, Stillwater, Omaha Burke).
Have fun and good luck at state! Ryan

This has happened once since the beginning of time. I love Kansas but year in and year out Oklahoma is better than Kansas, careful how loud you toot your horn,... you have to go back next year.

Seaman's Schedule
6A 1 Goddard 2 Manhattan 3 Garden City 8 Free State 9 Washburn Rural
5A 1 STA 5 Gardner 6 Emporia 10 Shawnee Heights
4A 1 Clay Center 3 Andale 10 Santa Fe Trail 11 Chapman 12 Baldwin 15 Paola

All these were based on the newest rankings I could find. These may not be the most accurate as to placing but We've wrestled all of these teams and some others that are tough also.

When you have a scedule and a team like Bishop Carroll has, that gives them the absolute right to toot their own horn..... and if they don't, i'm gonna toot it. They have a great team and kicken the rears of some okies is not a once in a lifetime deal.

I was not trying to toot my own horn but that of all Kansas wrestling. I think there is too much time wasted on who is better 1-2-3A, 4A, 5A, or 6A when we should all be working together to promote all of Kansas wrestling. And yes I know winning in Oklahoma could be a once in a lifetime thing, that is why we were excited to do it and if it never happans again, I will still be proud of the accomplishment. Good luck to every team in every class at state. Let's all continue to promote KS wrestling and maybe someday another KS team can stand up to the juggernauts of OK and live to tell about it.

Wait - that day has already come and gone. Ark City, Hutchinson, Goddard and countless others go head to head with Oklahoma teams every year and live to tell about it. In fact our teams continue to have great success there. Obviously I don't want to start a pointless debate about who is better in wrestling OK or KS (that may not last long), I just want everyone to have pride in KS wrestling and come together rather than squabble over which class is better.

About the only think oaklahoma does better than BISHOP CARROLL is speak spanish. Now that is one classy comeback, the irony of misspelling a word while dogging another language. Your right BC won Perry and deserves to crow about it. My point is that this is the only time a Kansas team has won the Perry tournament in forty or so years. I'm sure Oklahoma is happy being 39-1 against Kansas.
