re: ryan , if you only knew how many really good kids are coming back , I dont think u would have put that BIG OL target on your sons back. he probably have a tough time just getting through districts , not to mention his chances at state I wouldnt fuel somebody elses desire by making comments like 40-0 . does ryan read the post above? the best of luck to ya.

yes that was byfar the stupidest thing you could of done. there are some really good freshman still coming back from kids such as: Scott Elliot, Mitch Arnold, Peter Eck, Romero Cotton- maybe but most likely not gunna be at this weight, Aldon Isenberg, Most likely not gunna be at this weight. Oh i also forgot about Jared Hensley. just so many good freshman this year around this weight. so just wait until after state to be talking how good he is

ryan recond last year was about 40 wins and two losts. he was beaten at state in over time in the simifinals by the boy that won first. and lost to a boy for third that he had beaten 5 times before. he is from manhattan and is a very good wrestler. ryan has beet him twice already this year, but like i said he is a boy that will go to state if he wrestle like he has when ryan wrestles him. there is a great kid in holton that will beat a lot of kids and remember those kids will be tought to beat.

This post isnt ment to slap anyone in the face nor is it a put down for any wrestler, I wish you all good luck, but I have seen it year in and year out that the top kids USUALLY will be the freshamn dropping down after high school, Im NOT saying that there are not some quality 8th graders, BUT lets be realistic here there is no substitution for a kid who has wrestled 15-30 matches against older high school kids taken their lumps and handed some out to, and you can not duplicate the year of physical and mental maturity a freshman goes through compared to an 8th grader.IMO nonoe of this compares to the 8th frader who has been wrestling kids his own age, even if they have wrestled 40-60 matches. AGAIN im not saying it wont happen but year in and year out the freshman are going to come out on top of the younger kids in the age bracket, which IMO makes the 14U barckets the toughest of any of the ages.

I think everyone would agree being at the bottom of the age group is a disadvantage. However I don't think it's any tougher at this age group. starting at 105 because that's the lowest weight for high school there are 17 weight classes. Of those 17 weights last year at least 6 champions and 5 2nds were 8th graders (could be more these are kids I know were 8th grade). There were also 2 High school state placers that I know of that had at least 2 8th graders in there weight finish ahead of them. With this said 40 and 0 is an impressive record (my son never won that many in a row) and Ryan could do well at state. However I think it is a mistake to publicly brag about ones abilities. You most likely won't sneek sneek up on anyone now (I know we will be watching you). My son has wrestled a lot of the guys mentioned in this and the other thread and they are some mean guys who would like nothing better than to end a 40 win streak.

yea what eight is ryan wrestling at the classic, i want to jump to whatever weight he is just to wrestle him, and if hes not goin to the classic, then he is not wanting competition and that would explain the 40-0 wrestling fish.

John Lynch will be the one to watch coming out of district 4. He has only 2 losses one the year, One at Pan Handle Nationals and one at Hutch. The only Matches he hasn't won by pin were the 2 he lost.
