I expected Aquinas to win again but Prairie View finishing second is an eye-opener for me!!
Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?

And don't forget that Lansing placed fourth while competing shorthanded. Wood didn't wrestle again, and neither did their 171-pounder because he was sick.
And congrats to the Tonganoxie guys. Five top-six placers and a top 10 finish. That team is looking strong this year.

Eudora tournament was held on a bad weekend because of the weather and its a shame that so many schools pulled out before the finish but the roads were so bad and at the time I though they were making a misake but after we drove home it was the best thing for the safety of the kids but when you look at the placing of the kids look at how many were won by wbf. and you will see how many schools pulled out before the tournament was over, that being said there were some of the best matches I have ever seen, and Eudora should be patted on the back for holding such a great tournament. the only thing that I think should be done is run five rounds on Friday and then start on sat, at 9:00 with the final eight man bracket.

I was kinda surprised that STA won it again. I expected McCarthy, Walker, Henes and Nowak, but they got backside help from Mancuso, Greer and Korte. For them to beat those surging Lions, that was a true team effort. Congrats to STA.

Here are some comments:
Only two teams left early and I don't blame them - - El Dorado & Hiawatha so there were only a handful of forfeits in the medal round.
If we wrestle five rounds on Friday, we would need to start at about 11:00 AM, plus we finished at 5:30 on Saturday moving quickly because of the weather. When the weather cooperates, the schedule is ideal.
Aquinas is very good, their young kinds wrestle with high expectations and don't make many mistakes.
The freshman class for Lansing is the real deal.
Coach Vandeventer at PV has been working with those kids for years and they will get even better as the weeks progress.
Matt Noblet looked healthy and appears to be on a mission to make up for lost time.
Coah Goebel at Tongie has a great group of hard-working kids and an equally impressive group of junior high kids. They will continue to impress.
Duane Zlatnik is good.

I agree, make no mistake about it, PV is very, very tough. Coach V has them wrestling hard and with great skill and technique. Congrats to the Buffaloes and their program. Look for them to be a strong contender come regional/state time.
Great tournament Eudora crew, as always! This is a great tournament as the season kicks off every year.
Good job wrestlers in the tourney, some great matches throughout.

Coach Dewitt and crew put on another super tournament. I would not change a thing (except for having coffee in the concession stand . Agree with Coach Dewitt on Noblet. Matt looked impressive--Great stance/motion/hand fighting, explosive leg attack, and a riding/turning machine from top! Mike Flynn

With the weather outside not a better place to be but inside Eudora High School watching some great wrestling from all classes.
Another suberb job from start to finish by Ron Abel and the Eudora staff.
Coach DeWitt please thank the ladies for the awesome hospitality.

I may have had a cup or seven from the hospitality room but we'll see about getting some in the concession stand for next year.
The hospitality room was good, it also helped me to discover Lansing's weakness. Their coaching staff can be easily distracted by Pyle's Sausages.
