Just a few answers to some questions...

1. my son is not competing against anyone on his website. It shows him catching and hitting. That is all.

2. You brought up a good point in the other wrestler in the videotape. so far, the law does not say anything about the other wrestler. It just says that you can not videotape an opponent who is not your own son/daughter or team. Personally, I would make sure they are not mentioned by name. This is a safety feature that most schools use when they are posting pictures of students on their websites.

Again, I am just stating the law protecting privacy for minors concerning the internet. I am not the police. Yes, there are a lot of people who post information on youtube that probably shouldn't. Just like there are a lot of people who speed when they are driving down the highway or street. But it is still against the rules. AND, if you post a video on youtube and there is problems, you are held liable as an adult. There is a lot of litigation concerning the youtube, facebook, myspace, ect. in court right now. Technology is expanding faster than our laws and morality discussions can keep up. (an example, the mother from Missouri who pretended to be a teenager on myspace and is now being held responsible for causing another teenager to commit suicide. The court is looking at what it can do to prevent this from happening again and what crimes they can charge against the mother http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/12/03/internet.suicide/).

Anyway, this will be my last response on this post. Just if you want the law to change, you need to look at why it is there in the first place.

Is this a law or a KSHAA rule? Mom4 are you a lawyer you sure seem to know an awful lot about the law. And since you keep quoting this law please post it for us, when was it passed. If this is law why isn't the FBI shutting down youtube and similar sites? I just think youre paranoid and they do have medications for that now a days

Even those who are against video taping will have a tough time not clicking on one of the many links to some awesome MISSOURI HIGH SCHOOL matches. How many wish we had a site like this one?

Okay, I've been reading these posts, mainly because I've heard several people who are near and dear to our family talk about it, and have controlled my impulse to add anything until now. But since it will probably be one of my last posts for quite awhile, plus my husband isn't here to stop me....I have to do it. I have not heard one person mention anything about educating our wrestlers about "the predators." As parents we can't catch every bad thing that is happening around our children. But we can teach our children about the bad things that could happen around them, and to them, and how to protect themselves from these dangers and we need to listen to our kids. Our kids show the signs of any dangers, we just need to look for those signs, ask questions and answer questions honestly. That way our kids have a better understanding.

I'm sure if anyone would like more information on that, the FBI would be happy to educate you. This, in my opinion, is our best defense against the dangers, more so than being worried about who is watching our children wrestled. There is nothing they can do to a video tape, nor with an educated child.

It really is a shame that grown men act worst then their High School Wrestlers.
