Chanute High School is looking for an extra team for our SEK Invitational which is always held the last Saturday in January. If you are interested, feel free to email me at albrighta@usd413.org

Thanks,

Why are so many teams getting out. Is the tournament run well? And most important, what is the hospitality room like? I knew when Labette got out, something was up. Any info would be appreciated.

I know this is a different sport, but Coffeyville has a big basketball tournamnet and they pay teams from out of state to come in or at least they used to. Just a thought.

getting out because they dont post results in a timely manner. Wow now thats a good reason to turn down competition. What a crock. Get over it and think about the competition over the results being posted. Kinda sounds like some are afraid to wrestle some tough competition.

I am with you Bock, who cares about the results. That cannot be the real reason so many teams are bailing.

Chanute runs a very good tournament and has an excellent hospitality room. I think some teams are just scared of a little competition. And according to the rankings there is some good competition at the SEK Invitatonal You be the judge:

103
Kenneth Ornelas - Chanute 2nd 4A
Dylan Penka - Bishop Carroll 2nd 5A
Roger Windham - Derby - 3rd 6A

112
Logan Rotha - Goddard 3rd 6A
Travis Reinhart - Derby 5th 6A
Mario Corado - Pittsburg 6th 5A

119
Parker Madl - Blue Valley 2nd 6A
Dane Rodrguez - Derby 5th 6A
John Keller - Bishop Carroll 1st 5A
Zach Jesseph - Chanute 6th 4A

123
Zach Peters - Augusta 2nd 4A
Adam Leedy - Chanute 8th 4A
Jordan Keller - Bishop Carroll 1st 5A
R. J. Riedel - Turner 6th 5A
Brandon Marlatt - Derby 6th 6A

130
Jake Zahm - Pittsburg 3rd 5A
Jake Mainz - Bishop 5th 5A
Cameron Jesseph - Chanute 3rd 4A

135
Mitchell Means - Goddard 1st 6A

140
Tyler Caldwell - Goddard 1st 6A

145
Ryan Holden - Goddard 3rd 6A
Mitch Arnold - Bishop 1st 5A

152
Brent Fisher - Goddard 1st 6A
Colton Snook - Derby 3rd 6A
Kyle Detmer - Bishop 1st 5A

160
Brandon Bonewell - Goddard 1st 6A
Coty Reinhart - Derby 2nd 6A
Jordan Brown - Pittsburg 3rd 5A
Tyler Rosenhammer - Bishop 4th 5A
Clay Shaft - Douglass 7th 4A

171
Chris Stuart - Augusta 3rd 4A
Boaz Beard - Goddard 1st 6A
Brett Newell - Blue Valley 3rd 6A
Alex Feldkamp - Derby 4th 6A
Tyler Koehn - Pittsburg 2nd 5A
Timmy Chadd - Bishop 4th 5A

189
Blake Long - Derby 2nd 6A
Roman Villegas - Goddard 5th 6A
Jacob Weaver - Augusta 8th 4A

215
Tyler Downs - Derby 2nd 6A
Josh Hicks - Goddard 3rd 6A
Jake Cole - Bishop 2nd 5A

275
Joe Irion - Goddard 4th 6A
Kyle Westmoreland - Derby 5th 6A

Looks like a pretty good tourny to me.

DeSoto doesn't host a tournament except for a novice. I have no idea why teams wouldn't go to Chanute. The competition looked to be excellent. Maybe it is too good?? I think teams need to mix it up and go to different tournaments and not do the same routine year in and year out. Travel is alway good, in my opinion.

I don't own any Subways but Momof4 would like it if you frequented the local Sonics in the OP area!
