Can we get some more info that can actually help all tournaments using track wrestling before the tournament starts.I know Thunderbird also had problems and delay could of been avoided if weigh ins were done correctly and it runs much smoother if you have enough surfaces to keep the matches under 100 on each mat.

Track Wrestling - Great guys to work with!

Helped us tremendously.

DO NOT ALLOW LATE ENTRIES - PERIOD!!!
Bout sheets print one per page to allow results back to control room in a quicker manner.
Getting these results back for entry into the system will let you print the next set of bout numbers quicker.
Designate extra table runners.

We've been to three tournaments that have used the Track Wrestling program. Although I think it can be a great thing to use once people have the kinks worked out, it is brutal to endure tournaments where that hasn't happened yet. The Thunderbird tournament was the worst. Arrived at 8:00 a.m., suppose to start at 9:00. It started at least an hour late, my son was to wrestle match 30 something. He finally wrestled his first match somewhere around 1:40 p.m. His last match was over at 7:45 P.M. That is WAY to long to have kids waiting around to wrestle 3 times. Plus, they only had 7 mats running. Last year they did a split format and we were out of there by noon. Hmmmm. We probably won't be going back.

I will give them kuddos for having medals and results ready as soon as we were done.......however, at 7:45 p.m. it really didn't matter.

They did have some problems with running the trackwrestling system. There were some weigh in cards they thought were scratches & the wrestlers had actually weighed in. They tried to fix it as fast as possible. They had angry parents in the room asking for thier money back & complaning about bracketing.I was helping & can say this set them back another 30 min if not more. If everyone wants tournys to start sooner understand that the unpaid volunteers are doing the best they can. Come and express your complaint with kindness & understanding & they will do thier best to accommodate you. Finding & entering the room where they are running the trackwrestling system with a attitude slows everything down more. I think the main problem with the tourny running late was not enough mats for numbers of wrestlers entered. I think they know what the problems are now & will change what they need to.

I agree we had issues. But it wasn't trackwrestlings fault. WE made the issues with not being organized at weigh-ins. We also had complaints that our surfaces were too small last year so we changed that. Guess what, now we didnt have enough surfaces. Yes we learned a great deal from this and yes there will be changes next year. But none of this is trackwrestlings fault. They were AWESOME. You called or instant chat them and they were great help.
We are all trying something new and I believe it will help in the future. I apologize for the problems we had at the Thunderbird Tourney.

It was a long day but all involved were very pleasant. The refs were very good. I would like to know if the Track Wrestling system automatically does the seeding with the information that is put in or is the seeding done maually. Since this tournament asked for wrestler ratings I expected it to be seeded accordingly. Just wondering.

I was told by Jason that the program looks for weight, then same team then ratings.

So, you are saying it is done manually. Okay. From my observation, there were 3 "A" wrestlers in my son's full 8 man bracket and 2 of them met in the very first match of the bracket (#1 & #8). He had a great bracket and a great day of wrestling with good competition. It just makes you wonder about the process. We enjoyed the day and plan to return. Thanks for the info.

We have been to 5 events so far this yr that have used the track wrestling software. Each event has had its share of "kinks" to work out. This was our 3rd yr at the T-Birds tourny and by far the longest event we have ever attended. I am quite sure that it was not the intention of the T-Birds club to host a record breaking length tourn., so I for one want to say thank you for the effort put forth and we will continue to support your clubs events in the future.
Once we all get better at using the track wrestling software, things will really fall into place. Thanks again T-Birds for a great event.

p.s. Hospitality room was awesome! See ya next year.
