there are no returning highschool state champs at 112 but daniel deshazar who is ranked #1 at 112 won kids state last year and zack tannenbaum took 3rd at kids state last year, they both are freshman
i know we are talking about 5a and 6a and there toughest brackets, but i think the hardest bracket in the whole entire state 1a-6a is 4a 119. That bracket is absolutely stacked.
I was somewhat shocked at the surprising ease with which Nelson defeated a tough opponent in Kapaun's Hagan, at the GWAL. Nelson is cat-quik, strong and technically proficient. It would not surprise me that he'll present himself well at state. He may not win, but he'll give everybody a good run for their money.
