I could but he still probably wouldn't gain the weight. He works it off faster than he can put it on.
Nix - Is your boy 37 or 40? Who is he and where are you from?

In response to the original post, I would think that Cayden Hughbanks from Maize would be a top contender at 37. I think he weighs real close to 37 even though he usually competes at 40. I'm not sure what he will be at 6U State.

If he is still into the season and enjoying it this late I would say go for it. Most 5 year old get burn out by this time of year.

I say go for it then. Majority of the kids at that weight will be 5 years old. There will be some kids that are above his level but many more at or below his level so he should get some good matches.

Nix Like Dagwood said, if HE is still into it, then I would say to enter him. We were at Ottawa at 37 last year in a 32 man bracket with about 25 or so kids. There were kids of all levels in the bracket. After about 2 rounds, things had sorted themselves out for the most part and I think that the majority of the matches were competitive from that point on, regardless of skill level. It is a good experience and if you make sure he sees the Parade before the Finals, it may help HIM contribute to setting his goals for next year. That is the way it went for us last year anyway. Good Luck! On another note, I think I read on another post(unless I've confused you with someone else) that you are Chris Hernandez' cousin. I worked with Chris for awhile and still talk to him some. Look me up @ Ottawa....look forward to meeting you and your boy.

Does anyone know if Team Central competes in the MO State Tourneys or the KS State Tourneys?
If you look at Salina Results (and they usually seem to be a decent indicator of who to watch at State), then I would throw these names in the mix:
Grayston Diblasi Team Central (see original question) Jace Irwin Salina Jordan Zimmerman Hays Trig Tennant Ark City Wayne Joint Junction City Tazwell Yates Salina
And I'll keep the name I threw in earlier in the mix too.....Cayden Hughbanks from Maize. This should be a good bracket because I haven't seen any one particular 37 lb kid dominate at weekend tourneys. Good luck to all you 37's!!!
