So to you it's better for the wrestlers to face the same guy YET AGAIN in an event like this rather than someone they've never faced? Exciting.

I find it WAY more appealing to give Zlatnik a chance to avenge his only loss in the past 3 years.

Nay-Pyle -- I'm completely lost on that. I can't figure out who wresled who or when, and what impact it had. Coach Brown said Sabetha has never lost and now it's Nay 14-7?
I guess the implication is that pyle dodged nay?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, welcome to the "Greatest Show on Earth" Boy I hope the copyright police are on a donut break. This event is with out a doubt a magnificent showcase to conclude a scholastic season of wrestling. I have been fortunate to be asked to coach in this premier presentation of exceptional athletes three times and am humbled by the outstanding performances of both Kansas and Missouri.
As a very infrequent poster to this forum I will direct my statements to what I see as the most important issue when the Metro Classic Thread arrives each year. Graditude.
Thanks to the athletes for their committment, talent, and courage to take on one more great challenge in their senior year.
Thanks to Gary Ulmer, Randy Westfahl, and all those behind the scenes who make this happen each year.
Thanks to the fans who provide readers of this forum with hours of entertainment with your comments whether they are accurate, inacurate, or just plain crazy.
I understand that to many the radius, weighin, choice of participant, are critical issues but as Tommy Boy would say "Just let it go, man" Enjoy the matches and to the victor congrats

Nay wrestled Hudgins last year and won 14-7. Pyle wrestled McClain and won. You ask for an exanple of how KS moved their lineup ...I thought. Impact is that move quite possibly won KS the dual last year 27-26. Good coaching move no argument, but many on both sides of the border want to see best vs best.

Not sure what you mean by 119 vs 130?
Forrest was 119, McCormick was 125, Tanenbaum was 130 during season. Forrest is at 119. Initially it was thought both KS wrestlers moved down one weight. Now McCormick is at 125 and Tanenbaum went down 2 weights to 119.

Tanenbaum was actually lighter than McCormick naturally. That's why he's wrestling down.

oh, wait - so they didn't wrestle. Pyle barely won and nay stomped his guy?
So Pyle, it's assumed, would have lost to Nay, and MO still would have had a good chance of winning the other match?
Ok - I can definitely see the draw to a Nay-Pyle match up, and if they took it away from Pyle even if he genuinely wanted it just to improve the chance of a team win that's a little disappointing to me.

It just seems to me this type of event should be a lot more about the best getting the best than the team score.

I guess I AM the weird one.

... and it has to be said, that in the "Battle of the Forums," in spite of the Showme's playing of the underdog card ... Kansas is kicking butt in the number of posts this afternoon!

... of course that may have to do with the demographics proving a lack of worthwhile employment on the Kansas side!!

I know this has been on television in the past. Will it be televised this year and if it is does anyone know what channel on DIRECT TV will carry it?

well ... it's over ... the paper champs are the REAL champs! Kansas fought valiantly but lose to a very solid Missouri team. The final score, Kansas 24 and Missouri 32!

I think if someone did a takedown comparison between Missouri and Kansas ... that would explain everything.

Randy, Wasn't it 32-24? We were down by 11 going into the last two and Madison's win put us down by 14. Disney pinned Nelson to close it to 8 points. Some great match-ups tonight! Missouri earned it.

No - he was dominated by the Blue Springs kid.

Standouts to me:
Pierce - Kearny, MO
St. Louis - Platte Co., MO
Haynes - Oak Park, MO
Disney - Shawnee Hts, KS (WOW)

Was happy to see Hase dominate his opponent.
Dissapointed by Zlatnik - he owned 3A, but was dead 3:00 in against Madison.

Great show though - halfway through KS was in charge, but from 52 on MO took over.
Disney is a machine.

Maddison was the superior wrestler no doubts. I really wanted to see Disney and Maddison go at it. I think Zlatnik would have taken to that kid Disney wrestled also.
