I know some folks have issues with me, okay with that, but I haven't met anyone yet who has issues with my wife Mary Jane. She has had a tough couple of years as her sister died from cancer a couple of years ago, and her brother died yesterday. He is retired Navy and died from cancer. She is now in Tennessee with my daughter for the funeral, which will be a full military funeral at Mountain Home Vetrans Center in Johnson City. The funeral is on Friday and it has been pretty tough with the loss now of a brother and a sister in the last 2 years. Keep her and the rest of the family in your prayers, it would be appreciated. His name was Larry Erwin and he was one of funniest people I have ever been around. He was unique in that he served on two aircraft carriers that picked up Apollo missions, one of those being Apollo 13, he served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam aboard a battleship, and one aboard an aircraft carrier. A great guy that meant a lot to our family, he helped us move when we first moved to Kansas as a family in 1981.

I am sorry for your family's loss Mike. Thanks for sharing about Larry's background. It sounds like he was not only an American hero, but a gift of God to your family as well. I will pray this morning for God's peace and strength for you all.
