Congratulations to all placers in this bracket!

I would especially like to congratulate Taylor Watkins and Tristan Star on such an exciting finals match. I believe triple overtime.

You both wrestled well and great sportsmanship displayed at the end. Way to go!

trackwrestling doesn't show it very well, but several of the matches in this bracket were decided in overtimes. These were a few i know of since i intensely watched this bracket to see the good competition my son would have. here are a few of the overtime matches that played out in this bracket: QF match - Gash over Schaake 5-2 in triple OT. Semis match - Watkins over Gash 4-2 in 1st OT. Cons. QF match - Weinlood over Campbell 6-4 in 1st OT. Finals match - Watkins over Star 3-2 in triple OT.

Tough, tough bracket and congratulations to all placers in this bracket, all of the finals matches were exciting and close matches with each finals match being decided by 1 or 2 points.
Championship match: 3-2 decision OT
3rd/4th match: 2-0 decision
5th/6th match: 5-4 decision

Again Congrats to the following kids in this bracket!!

1st: Taylor Watkins
2nd: Tristan Star
3rd: Justin Rieschick
4th: Caleb Gash
5th: Shilo Schaake
6th: Brent Weinlood

Sincerely,
Craig Gash

Also in the 14 & #85, the semi-final match between Anthony Calderon and Javier Vieyra went into double O.T or the ultimate tie breaker and on trackwrestling it says it was won by decision

For 10U 79, you can add in semis, Star over Rieschick 5-3 in OT.

If there was such a thing, I bet this bracket could get the award for most OT matches! All kids wrestled very hard with a lot of close matches.

Track Wrestling CAN show OT decisions, etc. I think for this year it was just a training issue between table workers and data input personnel. Not blaming either, I appreciate all the work that all volunteers put into this tournament. I just think it was new and the score was captured, just not the OT part. I see nothing but good things coming from TrackWrestling as all users get used to its functions and capabilities. This was my 4th tournament helping with the software and I know I learned more about it again this weekend.

I wasn't meaning that trackwrestling couldn't, i was just saying that it wasn't depicted on trackwrestling the OT matches very well. I agree that the future of tournaments is in trackwrestling and as we all learn more about the capabilities of the software things will get better and better. maybe even a live feed of each match point by point kind of like watching a pro football game on espn.com now that would be awesome!

I agree this was a very tough bracket! It made for a pretty fun and intense tourney. The finals was a nail biter but I also thought that Gash/Watkins match was a great one also! And as mentioned the Star/Rieschick matches are always close and intense!

On a releated note:

Rieschick's mom, I and Tristan enjoyed very much meeting your family this year and Tristan and Justin's close matches sure have added a few gray hairs to all of us this year. Justin was such a joy and I and Tristan had voted him our personal "great kid" to see at all the tournaments we traveled to through out the state! He always had a smile on and is just so friendly! Thanks!

Paratroop - Thank you for the kind words. Justin loves wrestling tournaments as he meets new friends and sees old friends. He has also commented on how nice Tristan is. I know we all have enjoyed meeting and competing with your family. It is nice to be able to watch the kids go hard on the mat and then relax afterwards. Have a great off season and we will see you next year!
