Steve Miller is wrestling in 14U 130lbs. He was in my son's bracket at sub-district. We are looking forward to seeing him again at district.

To see Steve again it will have to be in the finals... Good luck hope to see ya there. So how does Jess do against Lackey? I know he’s a tough young man.

Jess was really off that day. I don't think he was prepared. He lost to Lackey 15-5. He also lost to the kid from Concordia right after that. I think that it was really good for him to loose. It gave him some fire at practices. He now knows that he will have to be at his best at Districts if he wants to go to State. Lackey is a really good wrestler. He is strong on the take-downs. Good luck to Steve.

1) Scott Elliot - TOHK
2) Tyler Rosenhamer - Bishop Carroll
3) Cameron Riojas - Ark City
4) Blake Mayes - Beloit
5) ... Ringgold - NW Grizzlies
6) Tad Miller - Stockton

If you notice all 4 wrestlers from District 2 placed, and not a single 8th grader placed. This bracket was loaded with outstanding freshman.

Even 8th graders such as... John Hambleton- Parsons, who won district 1 and Tanner Kriss- Colby, who won district 4
Both very good wrestlers and both got beat out early

other 8th graders included... Ryan Carlson- Hiawatha, Ben Brown- Leoti, Clinton Taylor- Hays
All of these wrestlers got beat out early as well.

Most of these wrestlers didn't manage to make it to the 3rd round and im pretty sure none of them made it to the 4th round.

After seeing all of this its safe to come to the conclusion that being an 8th grader at this level wrestling freshman is very difficult and only very few talented 8th graders manage to place
and I'm sure many people would agree.
