1st Annual SEK vs SWMO Dual @ Labette Community College An all star dual basically like the metro classic will take place at LCC this year. It will consist of SEK vs SWMO wrestlers. Wrestlers from east of Wichita to the Missouri line and from Burlington to the Oklahoma line are eligible. Will this be seniors only? What is the selection process?

$100 per wrestler. What is all the money going to be used for?

East of Wichita? Is Heights considered east or west of Wichita? Thanks to those who are putting this together! Sounds like a great idea and another chance to dominate Missery in wrestling.

It's too bad this dual wasn't started last season when Monett had two DI wrestlers as seniors in Kellen Bounous who is at Missouri and Kyle Myer who is at Stanford. Myer was a 4X State Champ and Bounous was a 3X State Champ with a Runner-up. Also a little tid bit, Kyle Myer was born in Emporia, so if he claims any All-America's while at Stanford I'm counting that towards the Kansas tally. Then throw in C.J. Naiper for Kansas who's now at Nebraska and you've got 3 D1 kids in pretty small area. I think last year would have been a pretty good matchup with Chris Watson of Andover Central (former Missourian) meeting up with Meyer.

This seems like it will be a pretty good recruiting tool for the Cardinals, too. Especially with it being the week after nationals when Labette should be bringing home some hardware to show off.

i can't wait, swmo is always loaded. you are right richard robert, monett has fallen off a bit this year, but seneca and neosho continue to produce studs. it should be great for years to come.

This is probably restricted to high school seniors due to eligibility rules by KSHSAA and NFHSA. Similar to the Metro Classic, Senior Classic, District I All-Star Dual, and Shrine Bowl which all involve high school seniors from Kansas. At the higher levels you have the Dapper Dan Classic, Dream Team Dual, McDonald's All-American Games, and U.S. Army Senior Bowl. I'm almost certain this is just for seniors.

To answer Jeremy's question, each athlete is asked, not required to provide a sponsor for recongniton in the program. This money will be used to help relieve the cost of the singlets, awards, etc. To be honest with you, this idea was tossed around due to the fact that its the first time for this dual and we did not want to burden the Labette Wrestling funds incase there are some unexpected costs. We believe we have all the bases covered, but again, its our first rodeo. We believe its a good opportunity to advertise for the represented community as well. Again, its not required, but for the first dual, it may help the event keep rolling in the future. I hoped this answered your questions.

Bennett can wait his turn for a year, there are three seniors at least who are deserving at this point of wrestling in this dual. i was responding about sophs/juniors because you commented about swmo being down this year. SEK is down this year too, as far as seniors, not in quality but quantity. NOT QUESTIONING THE FORMAT, or the rules. sorry brother richard robert, i can't believe either but you are mistaken. BEAU BENNETT IS A SENIOR, and has beaten all the "top dogs" that he has faced, except for TANK. not trying to debate your knowledge here, just stating the facts.

What a great opportunity for both Kansas and Missouri seniors to "clash" at LCC! My guess is that coach Albright will be wearing a mustache when LCC holds their annual summer camp this june.

Sorry for the mistake it has been corrected. The rankings say he is a junior. I guess I'll have to get better intel.

Thank you for the reply James. I talked to Coach Albright today at Rosehill and he gave me some sh@@ about my question I wasnt trying to stir the pot I just wanted to know and being a LCC alum I think it is great and I am sure I will get some more sh@@ from Joe tomorrow. This will be a great event. Great for KS wrestling and hopefully we can beat those SWMO boys.

$100 per wrestler. What is all the money going to be used for? I think I could pull in some sponsorship money from Wonder Bread, Powerade, Fig Newton, and Big Red. Maybe I can get some pull with Mountain Dew, I know how those boys in the Four State Region like to get all jacked up on Mountain Dew. I'd love to see the boys sporting some sponsors on there singlets like a huge Laughing Clown Malt Liquor logo right on the backside with a big bulbous nose mid rectum. I think that was too much of a description.
