We do our sport a real diservice by starting the championship semi's that early in the afternoon. This is a round the casual fan might want to attend but most likely can't because they are still working. This is why four mats is a bad idea!

I am assuming the Introductory Parade starts at 10:00 tomorrow, right?

And...at the risk of sounding like the guy who announces "well, back in my day we did it this way..." Why are the Championship Semis on Friday? Doesn't that affect Saturday morning attendance? Couldn't you at least run Consolation Cross Bracketing on Friday and move Cahmpionship Semis to Saturday? Perhaps I am not understanding the need to run it the way it is. Could someone enlighted me?

The reasoning used to be that they could sell tickets to the Friday evening round more readily if it were the championship semi's. But it seems that thinking has totally gone by the wayside and we've just said in effect "screw the gate".
My feeling always was, right or wrong, that if you had the championship semi's on Saturday morning it might improve the quality of the wrestling in the championship matches that evening by making the wrestlers less tight. I was fine with the semi's on Friday if it improved the attendance. But having the semi's at 4:30 in the afternoon on a Friday is insane. Under that thinking we could host the tournaments mid-week and probably get a cheaper deal on the facilities.
This all plays into this mindset of, 'let's run all tournaments straight through and get the hell home'. We will not and can not develop a fanbase that way!

I would venture that no arena allows coolers inside anymore, other than for the athletes. Even those will have to be inspected.

The arenas arn't the county fair. They make very little off the gates. Gates may pay the overhead. Profits come from the concessions!!, and parking if they have it! If they don't have parking at the arena in Wichita, assume you are having to park in commercial lots around downtown.
