Doesn't look like they keep track of the fastest pins. Whitney Cox holds the fastest pin in Ark City history and I believe it would be a state record also. He pinned his opponent in 3 seconds.

I'm sure that it's true, but how in the heck is that possible?
You would basically have to just jump sideways and have the kid land flat of his back with the ref already waiting on the mat in position...or the time keeper starts the clock late!

Keep in mind they were both Heavyweights. Several of the wrestlers on the team had pitched in $5.00, fastest pin took the pot. Scotty Goodale at 112 was leading with a 12 second pin. Ware, Hernandez and I couldn't beat that time. Scotty thought he had it wrapped up, because Whitney was not known as a pinner. The two shook hands and the whistle blew. His opponent pulled his hand back pulling Whitney into him. The kid fell straight to his back and Whitney fell on top of him. The kid had the wind knocked out of him and did not move. The Official dropped to the mat and called the pin. 3 seconds had expired off of the clock.

I'm going to report Ark City to KSHSAA and have that season's team title revoked, along with all of those individual medals. This is a black eye for the sport. Just kidding. That is pretty sweet. I usually have bets with my pit crew on whether we will be the quickest out of pit row.

I am assuming the statute of limitations is up on that one. The bet is the only way I remember it happening. Whitney was a severe underdog. He did take the money and buy the team ice-cream afterwards.

don't know what's worse the gambling in sports or the ice cream in wrestling.
