Beasley/Smith/Watters because you have said in the past that kids doesnt hold as much ground as HS and Beasley beat Smith bad the last time they met and beat him the time before that their first meeting was controversial at best. Then Smith beat Watters in HS finals. You ranked Smith ahead of Beasley the beginning of this year even though he beat him in kids finals last year.JMO but there you go.

My thoughts are: 2. Blaine Smith - 12 - SS - 5A 3. Colby Watters - 10 - ARK - 5A 4. Cody Beasley - 11 - WC - 6A
Somethings to remember: Smith has last 2 wins over Watters. Watters has the last 2 wins over Beasley. Beasly has the last wins over Smith. Smith is a 2 timer state champ and a 4 time placer. I believe he went 5@103, 1st@103, 3rd@119, 1st@119. Beasly has won state once, a three time placer, and has been a 119 pounder his entire high school career. 6th@119, 6th@119, and 1st@119. Watters is a 2 time runner up. 2nd@103 and 2nd@119.
A big key factor is the fact that Beasley does have 1 loss to Smith. Even though he has beaten Smith the last 2 times, Beasley has never beaten Watters and Watters has never beaten Smith. So, with that one win over Beasley I would give smith the nod over him in the rankings and since Watters beat Beasley last weekend he gets the number 3 spot.

Watters and Beasley are 2-2....Beasley won at the Ark City/Campus dual and then at Subs....Watters won at Districts and State.

The win that Smith had over Beasley was the first tourny of the year and it was a controversial match could have gone either way but in the end it did go to Smith. The last time they wrestled it wasnt even close Beasley won.

Perhaps chief you should put 2. Blaine Smith 3. Cody Beasley 4. Colby Watters My reasoning for this is Beasley and Smith got it done when it counts (HS State). But i put Smith ahead of Beasley because Watters beat him at kids state . This gives me the belief that Smith beat a tougher kid.... And Watters goes third for two simple reasons high school state, and 8 loses.... Smith being only 3 loss, beasley 1 loss Criteria for my decision 1. High School State 2. Most recent results 3. Overall season performance (If the wrestlers are tied head-to-head in matches)

Changing weights, 1.5 minute periods, fewer practices and a smaller stage alters the landscape for many wrestlers.

That is really an ignorant (not to be disrespectful) comment especially when you consider McCullough (6A) a returning state medalist with a win over Humphrey (6A), didn't even place this year at state and Norris (6A) the defending state champion was 4th losing to Humphrey. Additionally, McCullough beat Sullivan (5A) who placed at state this year. McCullough also just placed 5th at 130 at the Kids HS State. Lemon (6A) who placed 5th at state losing to Norris in OT had two wins this year over Peterson (5A) who also placed 5th at state. Additionally, Lemon proved that was no fluke by winning the Classic at 125 in a bracket where Peterson was 4th and also winning the Kids HS State at 119. Peterson just beat Seaton (5A) at Kids HS State at 125. The problem I know is Seybold (5A). We all know that Seybold is one of the best wrestlers in the state regardless of class. He had a bad day. He got a bad draw. That doesn't somehow make the 6A bracket "much easier this year". Tell that to McCullough and Harrington (6A) who also didn't place but also beat Sullivan this past season.

Have them wrestle each other ten times a piece over the next two week's at Cokeley's barn or Church's school - the one with the highest winning percentage of the three gets the top spot.
Yeah, i know. Impossible. Just thinking outside the box.

Well that's a relief to hear Chief. I would like to think though that this is not the only time you have agreed with me.

Whether you have heard of them or not is irrelevant. You made an ignorant comment that 6A was much easier and I showed why that is an inaccurate statement. Big Chief verified that. And ignorant does not mean stupid, it just means uninformed which obviously you are or you would not have made that comment. You can deal with it emotionally however you want.

Changing weights, 1.5 minute periods, fewer practices and a smaller stage alters the landscape for many wrestlers. i know the rules chief, i know there are fewer practices, and "less at stake". the question i asked is why do you, and others, count some usaw matches, yet use the above "excuses" for others. not trying to be an arse, i just have heard some say, "oh well that was kids", yet have seen where have used some usaw matches for rankings. just asking, a simple question. please eloborate on why some usaw matches are used for rankings while others are cast aside. IMO if it's high school rankings only hs matches should apply, but i don't do the rankings so my opinions don't matter. just curious as to why other's think the way they do, is all. thanks for all you do.

I discount those that are at different weights than where they wrestled in HS. The only other factors are officiating, sickness or injuries. If you have specifics, I can explain.
