I like when ESPN does the HOTSEAT, so I thought...let's do it with 10 questions for Kansas wrestling to help pass the time. Each answer has to be someone/team that is associated with wrestling in Kansas past or present.
1. Of All the previous 4x State Champions, which would you consider the top?
2. If you could make a fantasy matchup with any 2 Kansas wrestlers in history who would they be? (Explain credentials if need be)
3. Same question, but fantasy matchup between 2 Kansas wrestling Teams in History.
4. Of the 8 recognized college programs in Kansas (5 junior college, 1 NAIA, and 2 NCAA DII), which program is at the biggest risk of dropping the sport? Why?
5. Who in your opinion needs to be put in the Kansas Wrestling Hall of Fame that han't been enshrined yet?
6. Of everybody in the state of Kansas, who do you think could complete the Gallon Challenge without throwing up? (the gallon challenge is where you attempt to complete a gallon of milk without upchucking. Must be done within an hour)
7. Who do you think will be the biggest breakout/surprise wrestler of 2011. (Give 4 answers on this...1 per each division 6a, 5a, 4a, and 3a)
8. Same question as 7, except team. (again 4 answers)
9. Who is your favorite (not necessarily the best) referree in your opinion in the state all time?
10. If you could create an All Star Dual envolving 2 high school conferences to face each other at the end of the season, what 2 conferences would they be and why? (Use Kansaswrestling.com for help by looking at teams and seeing conference)

1. Of All the previous 4x State Champions, which would you consider the top? Roberson, Treaster, Caldwell the only three to go on to become NCAA Div 1 All Americans, so far. 2. If you could make a fantasy matchup with any 2 Kansas wrestlers in history who would they be? (Explain credentials if need be) Eric Akin vs Zach Roberson 3. Same question, but fantasy matchup between 2 Kansas wrestling Teams in History. 70's KMC vs 80's Beloit vs 90's Ark City 4. Of the 8 recognized college programs in Kansas (5 junior college, 1 NAIA, and 2 NCAA DII), which program is at the biggest risk of dropping the sport? Why? Too dangerous of question to answer. 5. Who in your opinion needs to be put in the Kansas Wrestling Hall of Fame that han't been enshrined yet? Who has been enshrined? 6. Of everybody in the state of Kansas, who do you think could complete the Gallon Challenge without throwing up? (the gallon challenge is where you attempt to complete a gallon of milk without upchucking. Must be done within an hour) Cody Shavlik. I once saw him eat a box of honey buns in one sitting and he gained 12 lbs in half of a day! 7. Who do you think will be the biggest breakout/surprise wrestler of 2011. (Give 4 answers on this...1 per each division 6a, 5a, 4a, and 3a) Sr, Jr, So, Fr?? 8. Same question as 7, except team. (again 4 answers) There will be no surprises. 9. Who is your favorite (not necessarily the best) referree in your opinion in the state all time? I don't know his name! But I can tell you my least favorite! 10. If you could create an All Star Dual envolving 2 high school conferences to face each other at the end of the season, what 2 conferences would they be and why? (Use Kansaswrestling.com for help by looking at teams and seeing conference) Private Schools vs Public Schools

1. Of All the previous 4x State Champions, which would you consider the top? Roberson or Bo Beard 2. If you could make a fantasy matchup with any 2 Kansas wrestlers in history who would they be? Roy Oeser v. Bo Beard - Amazing how they won 4 championships without ever being a light weight! 3. Same question, but fantasy matchup between 2 Kansas wrestling Teams in History. Goddards 2008 Team V. any of the 1990's Ark City Teams 4. Of the 8 recognized college programs in Kansas (5 junior college, 1 NAIA, and 2 NCAA DII), which program is at the biggest risk of dropping the sport? Why? Answering this question could hurt that schools recruiting and would be a backwards move for our sport. 5. Who in your opinion needs to be put in the Kansas Wrestling Hall of Fame that han't been enshrined yet? Not sure... The only person two people I know in the hall of fame or Roy Oeser and the Old Chanute Coach.. Methvine I believe is his name. 6. Of everybody in the state of Kansas, who do you think could complete the Gallon Challenge without throwing up? (the gallon challenge is where you attempt to complete a gallon of milk without upchucking. Must be done within an hour) Chase Nelson is a bottomless pit of caloric intake! 7. Who do you think will be the biggest breakout/surprise wrestler of 2011. (Give 4 answers on this...1 per each division 6a, 5a, 4a, and 3a) Who knows... hate to bet on what 14-18 year olds are going to do as you never know with those complex brains of theirs. 8. Same question as 7, except team. (again 4 answers) Ark City or Kapaun Mt. Carmel 9. Who is your favorite (not necessarily the best) referree in your opinion in the state all time? There are so many I don't even want to answer this. There a quite a few good ones. I do like personally Nigel Ison though 10. If you could create an All Star Dual envolving 2 high school conferences to face each other at the end of the season, what 2 conferences would they be and why? (Use Kansaswrestling.com for help by looking at teams and seeing conference)AVCTL and GWAL

I'll take Deshazer and Baldridge. Actually; What about John Keller vs Jordan Keller?
And 2 favorite Refs? Mark Anderson, and Clark Conover. EASY.
And fantasy teams. The Jr dual team of 2005 vs the Jr dual team of 2008. The JR dual team of 05 was loaded, and it was awesome to be a part of it.

I would take the 2001 Jr. team over the rest of the field. They would dominate! I think there were close to 15 eventual division 1 wrestlers on that team.

Matt Treaster immediately came to mind for question 1. The first person who came to mind for the Hall is already there, Coach Decker. Having grown up in Belleville until '80, I wrestled for Coach Decker in the Kids' program, and wrestled against Treaster one match each in '78, '79 and '80.

I didn't see his name in the list of hall of fame inductee, but I feel SKIP HARRINGTON definitely needs to be put in the hall of fame!
And favorite ref's would be Kenny Taylor, Charlie Knox, Mike Wilms, Steve Herman, and Mark Anderson

Just for the speed alone I would LOVE to match up Shawn Bunch and Tommy Edgmon

I would take the 2001 Jr. team over the rest of the field. They would dominate! I think there were close to 15 eventual division 1 wrestlers on that team. No question, no doubt about it. From a purely statistical stand point there can be no argument. Dual team finished highest ever beating California for 3rd. Lost only to Oklahoma who beat Ohio for 1st. Devoe Gardner Bunch McCormick Bogart Murray Johnston Klein Peterson Dyer Bork Ubben Coaches B. Johnson, Klemm, Reick and X.
