Yes Miller beat Kriss at one dual but Kriss beat him three other times at st francis 11-0 then miller beat kriss at the dual 3-1 then two days later Kriss beat him 15-4 and then later at another dual 5-1 so that win really doesnt mean much over Kriss.. and McComb did beat kriss the only time the wrestled but Kriss improved so much over the season and im sure could beat just about anyone at that weight anytime

Miller is good no doubt, props to him. I could maybe see a T10 for him but couldn't see justification for bumping McComb.
McComb got the crap draw from H... at state. Loses to Deshazer 3-2 in regional finals. Lost 2-0 in quarters at state to Dremel then lost in OT to McElroy on backside. If the bracket is seeded he places no question. 5 of Chief's top 10 were in that 6A bracket. Tough break for very tough kid. Best wishes McComb.

Konnor Kriss was a beast at 4a state. Someone prior to state had gotten on here and said "Reed and Kriss should both win state for Colby" and I was thinking "who is this guy spouting off? Does he not know Kyle Johnson is in that bracket?"
Well Konnor made a believer out of me, Heck of a match between him and Kyle Johnson.
Won't be long, and Konnor will be kicking big brother's a$$..

To help you out here quagmire Like who won 5a at 152 lost to the 5th place finisher in 4a 17-1. Might help prove a point. He meant 160lb state champ. Not 152.

Hey Chief,
Just curious as to why you have Bean ahead of Butler at 215?
Thanks,
Bode That one was tough. It came down to a personal opinion having seen them both.

Chief, thank you for doing these rankings.
Kane Kelly 152 lbs. from Abilene def. Braun of Hays 6-1 at the Royal Valley Tourn. and he def. Rachow of Phillipsburg 6-3 at the Phillipsburg tournament. Uylesses Deshazer has a 3-1 head to head win over Kane Kelly at the Junction City Tournament as well which should put him above Kelly.

Chief,
At 171, I think Zac Eaton deserves to be ranked a little higher than you currently have him. He wrestled the last month of the season with a "bad wheel". He blew out his knee I believe. Prior to hurting his knee he had at least 2 wins over Shirk of Norton and was undefeated. He also posted a win over Flanagin of Colby at Beloit who is ranked 5th.
He injured his knee against Shirk in the finals of the MCL Tournament and injury defaulted. He then injury defaulted and did not step on to the mat to wrestle Long of Southeast Saline at Regionals, so he has never actually lost to Long in competition even though he has the loss on his record. Two of Eaton's losses came by injury default.
This past weekend at state he gave Shirk a tough go at 4-2 in the semifinals. Eaton went on to take 3rd in the bracket. Shirk finished off a championship beating Long in the finals 2-1.
I can see where you would not move Eaton above Shirk and Long since both finished ahead of Eaton in the last tournaments of the year. However, I do not see how Flanagin can be ranked ahead of Eaton based on their head to head.
This is how I see the rankings at 171: 1. Reece Wright-Conklin - 11 - LAW - 6A - 37-0 2t. Dylan Penka - 12 - KMC - 5A - 38-1 2t. Taylor Baird - 12 - PRT - 4A - 29-3 4. Spencer Shirk - 12 - NO - 321A - 33-3 5. Brock Long - 11 - SES - 321A - 34-1 6. Zach Eaton - 12 - SC - 321A - 31-3 7. Andrew Flanagin - 12 - CLB - 4A - 40-7 8. Blaine Hill - 11 - SME - 6A - 39-6 9. Tyler Baughman - 12 - LS - 5A - 39-4 10. Tyler Hendrickson - 12 - BV - 5A - 24-6 That makes sense. I will make a few changes. Thanks.

Chief,
What are your thoughts on ranking Clay Center over Norton in the team rankings? Norton has more ranked wrestlers, higher ranked wrestlers and won the head to head. Just curious and thanks for your work.

Dominique Henderson - 12 - WH - 6A - 26-9 10t. Tyler Hendrickson - 12 - BV - 5A - 24-6 I know that Zach Pollom and Andrew Flanagin never wrestled and I am not taking anything away from Flanagin, but I do think Pollom should be ranked over him. They had three common opponents just at the state tournament. They are Hosey, Ward, and Baird. They both beat Hosey and and Ward and lost to Baird, but Pollom pinned Hosey and Flanagin only beat him by one. The score with Pollom and Hosey was 2-2 when Hosey shot in and Pollom countered and then ran a bar arm with a half and pinned Hosey. The score with Pollom and ward was 7-4. Pollom I believed led 5-0 going into the 3rd and coasted with his lead. Flanagin and Ward was also a 1 point match. Baird dominated both Pollom and Flanagin along with everyone else that he wrestled. The last argument I would like to bring up is another common opponent, Anthony Shockley. Pollom wrestled Shockley at the Garden City tournament and beat him 12-5. Flanagin lost to Shockley in their last meeting. The only other wrestler that has beat him in your top ten is Blaine Hill. He never saw Hendrickson because Hendrickson was absent at the Gardner tournament and the Johnson County Classic, and Pollom had debate state during the Bobcat Classic. Flanagin's record is a little better than Polloms but with the schedule SJA has I believe Pollom saw better competition. Pollom is a very hot and cold wrestler, and anyone who has watched him through out the year can attest to that, but on the biggest stage of the year he was on top of his game and I think he deserves some credit for that.

First off i would like to say congrats to Pollom and a great for a great state tournament. But I would also like to bring up that Pollom lost to Devon Keith at gardner 4-0 and Hendrickson pinned him he also lost to John Blazevic at Gardner and Blazevic at the Shawnee Mission South tourny lost to Cordi Pascal and at the Blue Valley Northwest tourny lost to him again in which Hendrickson also pinned him. Not trying to put him down he is a great wrestler and he had a great tourny but he has some inconsistent matches. And no disrepespect to those who beat him either. But that is what most likely is keeping him out

Brock Long - 11 - SES - 321A - 34-1 6. Zach Eaton - 12 - SC - 321A - 31-3 7. Blaine Hill - 11 - SME - 6A - 39-6 8. Tyler Baughman - 12 - LS - 5A - 39-4 9. Andrew Flanagin - 12 - CLB - 4A - 40-7 10t. Not as clear as you think.... Flanagin: Lost to Shirk 3 times. Lost to Eaton. Lost 1-0 to Keiswetter. Lost 12-11 to Shockley (wish I could have seen that one). He has beaten Archer 12-1, pinned Shockley and beat Ward 2 times. AND...He beat Baird. That's the tipping point. It is true that Baird was just coming back from being dinged but it's all I have to compare. Pollom: Lost to Devon Keith 4-0. Got pinned by Henness and lost to John Blazevic at JOCO 7-4. The rest were out of state guys but he then was majored by a healthy Baird. He has beaten Spencer Wilson (Is he a relative of Cokeley?) and he beat Shockley 12-5. He also beat Ward 7-4. I completely hear you about the competition. I am considering adding Pollom just below Flanagin. Let me think about that one.

Not trying to put him down he is a great wrestler and he had a great tourny but he has some inconsistent matches. Inconsistent is the nice way to put it. I know Zach very well and hes a very good friend of mine. Here's the thing with him, he started his freshman year and weighed about 115lbs. He wrestled JV his frosh and sophomore years. He put in a lot of extra time with the summer stuff and he lived in the weight room. His Junior year he wrestled varsity at 135 and qualified for state. The next year he put on more muscle and wrestled 171. He's one of those kids where if he is starting to get very successful he tends to get in over his head a little. For example, he got second at the gardner tournament barely losing to a returning state champ, Devon Keith. He then took 4th at the Mid American Classic in Tulsa, which surprised some people. Then going to the Johnson county classic he took 4th, losing to Hill and Blazvic. 2 very tough kids who on any day Zach could beat. It happend throughout the entire year and thankfully he was in the right mind set going into state.
