Congrats to Andover Central and Coach Alley. Coach Alley is a Class act and so glad these boys were able to help deliver him the state Championship he has long deserved. I know he will say it is their Championship but they had to have a leader and he is it.

Yesterday was an awesome day for Andover Central. The team performed so well yesterday. After the 2nd round of consolations the score was tied 96.5 between AC and Shawnee Heights. After that AC went on a tear. Winning 11 of 13 matches to widen the gap. Wow what a day. I believe they wanted to do it for Coach Alley and their school. Unforgettable day.

Terry, I can't think of a better way to end a marvelous coaching career. You greatly deserve it. Thanks for being a tremendous fellow coach and friend over the years.

Coach Alley truly is a true gentleman by definition. When I first started coaching he treated me as a professional even though he has been doing it a lot longer than me. He is a true educator as well as fine wrestling coach. Congrats from the Turner Wrestling Staff!

I've sat down at least five times since Saturday night to try to put into words what Coach Terry Alley has meant to me and my family! There is no way I can do it justice. Starting with State and Grand State Team titles at KMC back in the late 70's to a story book fairy tale team title this last weekend. He has coached two of my brothers and now my son to individual titles. He is a tremendous wrestling coach but more importantly he has always represented class, decency and honor. He is truly one of the gentlemen of the sport and I am blessed to have been associated with him. I am so honored that my family and I had a front row seat to watch his long awaited and well deserved CHAMPIONSHIP weekend!

Coach Alley, I agree with everything said above. You are a great example for all the young coaches in the state. Congratulations on your state title and your retirement. Both are well deserved!

Coach Alley, Just wanted to add my congratulations to you. You have always shown yourself to be a gentlemen and have always been kind and supportive of my son even though he represents a rival school. You will be impossible to replace.

How are you doing Randy? I don't think I have permission to retire yet only change vocations. I might try shuffleboard if they shorten up the court. I do appreciate everyone who has made nice comments about me and my career. Of course, that only shows how poor your long term memory is. I'm sure about the first of November I will second guess myself on quitting but then I will get that sharp pain in my lower back, and my right leg will ache and I will remember why I left this to the younger guys. I have had a blast for the last 36 years and made some of my closest friends through this sport. For the most part, I have tried to set a pretty good example regardless of what Brian Shelton might suggest. i might be out of wrestling, but I won't be away from it.

Oh no you didun! I have been waiting for the "Terry Who?" thread to start before I got in on this love fest. However, since I have been called out I have something I would like to say. Exhibit A. Handing out pictures of me at the state tournament with my hand down a certain coach's (who will remain nameless) singlet in the first of many sophomoric attempts to treat me as less than an equal. Exhibit B. Taking pictures of me resting at a tournament with a certain coach (who will remain nameless) squatting over the top of me. Then e-mailing said pictures to every person that matters in my life in an attempt to further humiliate me. Exhibit C. Sending the ID badge of a certain wrestling coach (who will remain nameless) with my picture superimposed over his face and sending it to my school in yet another juvenile attempt to hurt my self-esteem. Exhibit D. Having your wife write a note that accompanied the ID badge which made it seem like I was irresponsible and couldn’t take care of my belongings. Only after meticulous handwriting analysis was it discovered that you involved this fine woman in your hijinks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKDQOki0GWA&feature=relatedPlease take the time to view this short video as my tribute to Terry. Replace the name Toby with Terry and I think my true feelings will be evident. In closing. Good Riddance!

This brings up a good question. Who will be willing to step up and fill Coach Alley's shoes where it comes to picking on Coach Shelton?

I don't how this column which started out with a bunch of nice things being said about me has now turned into something ugly. I never picked on Brian I only tried to mentor him through his younger years. All these things he has said about me have never been proven and I think my character speaks for itself.

I think this video is ironic. Michael actually looks a bit like Terry and it appears that he is singing his goodbye song to Toby (whom actually looks a bit like Brian). Oh wait, Toby has a lot more hair than Brian does. My bad! What was I thinking.
Coach Alley, You were always a class act. You probably don't realize the impact you've had on so many, even for the ones on the other side of the mat. Thanks.

Coach Alley, You have always been an inspiration in my life.Although,my first years out of high school didn't show it,I would always reflect back to the hard work, dedication, and determination that both you and coach Little instilled in me.With that,I think its helped me to be a good husband and father.Congratulations on such a wonderful career!Its been a thrill watching you strive seemingly,without losing focus to reach such a milestone.To leave on such a high note with all the studs from Andover Central,must feel great,You deserve it. Best wishes,and best of luck with all of your endeavors!Have fun!! sincerely, Tracey Wheeler {Bluestem}
