Why is it that when I go to the tournaments in Topeka I keep seeing the same people working on moving mats and setting up and tearing it down. If I started naming people I know I would leave someone out. Well maybe I wouldn't because they’re sure weren’t very many there working. You always see the same people working. Grater, Juby, Gonz, Gibson, Hinderliter, and a few others. Why isn’t all of the Corporate Board of Directors helping like Cadet Directors, Juniors Director, and District II Director? District III Director, Club Representative and so on. If these guys want to be on the board of directors then I think they should be there helping. It sure looks to me like we have allot of people sitting around raking in the glory and not doing any work. Some people might say why weren’t you there helping. Well I stayed and help roll up one mat. I felt bad because I had to leave, but you know if every one would help roll up one mat it sure wouldn’t take very long. My hats off to you guys who do all the work.

That's why some people would rather let the Kids National Turn. go somewhere else.I think the Grater's,Juby's and Gonzo should be paid for setting the turn. up.The people who have been setting up and tearing down have been mostly Shawnee Hts. wrestling club members. It's real easy to just leave when your kid's done wrestling and say somebody else will get the mats. I was reading the Texas USA wrestling website and the want the Kids National turn, should we let somebody else have it? I dont think so,if it wasn't for people like Coach Gonzales getting the mats, unloading, rolling, taping, mopping, rolling up and then moving the mats back there probably would not be a Kids National turn. I was there Friday at 8:00am,Gonzo,coach Gibson and about 4 other people set-up,yesterday we had 5 people loading up, taking Washburn Rual mats and then unloading and putting up the mats.I don't mind helping because my kid and my club kids wrestle in the turn.,but to put the burden on 3-4 men who do this for the love of the sport and not pay them is not right esp. how much money is made on this turn.

It is a lot of very hard work setting up for these tourneys. I help haul the mats to the expocenter and helped set them up again before nationals. I wanted to help more but just could not get away anymore than that. Gonzo and the guys do such a great job and they deserve so much more than we could ever offer them. Thanks guys.

Again when I got to the tournament at 7:00 on Sunday morning and there was Gibson and some old guy cleaning mats. I asked if I could help but they told me they had all 17 mats cleaned. They must have gotten there at 5:00 to clean all of them. The more I type the worse I feel for not helping. I say this every year but plan on helping more next year. I sure hope others do also.

Sorry but I don't remember seeing any of them help rolling up mats? I don't think any of them were there to help setup either.

What do we want to do? Let someone else have it,pay a club like Shawnee Hts. to set it up? Sure a free t-shirt is nice but money for our club's would be nice to,instead of paying the Expo guys $11/hr. There are a few people I left out in helping at Nationals The Malloy's,Coach Gibson was a big help and the man who had the big trailer that helped move them to Rual sure there are many more people who helped I just don't know the names. There are still 5-6 mats at Expo. anybody want to help?

My husband and I and my two boys were there to the bitter end at the State Tournament and it is a lot of work to get everything rolled up and put away. Our thanks and upmost appreciation goes out to all the people mentioned above. These people are the only reason that these tournaments can run smoothly. I help work the head table for the last two years at state and nationals and there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scene before we can even start to do work at the head table. I know that the Juby's and the Grater's and I am not sure who all else worked hard and late Friday night to get things ready for Sat. at Nationals. I would like to also thank anyone who helped work a table at both state and nationals. Thank you for doing your part, so our kids can participate in two well organized tournaments.
