The Eureka Wrestling Club will be hosting the Kim Burtin Benefit Wrestling Tournament on Sunday, February 26th. More information will be forthcoming within the next few days. Kim Burtin has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and is unable to continue working. Kim has been our club director for the past several years and involved in the kids program for almost 20 years. She truly has wrestling ingrained in her soul. Please plan to join our club for a day of wrestling as we raise money for Kim's treatments and medical expenses. ALL money received will be going directly to Kim and her family. Thank you in advance for your support and participation.

Here is more specific information on the tournament. If you should have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. The tournament flier should be on the calendar before too long.
Wrestling starts at 9:00 a.m., Sunday, February 26, 2012. Entry fee is $15 Entry deadline 10p.m. February 20 by mail or e-mail. Weigh-in: Saturday 6:00-7:30p.m. Sunday 6:30-8:00a.m. Home Site Weigh-ins will also be offered since many people will be attending high school state that weekend. Each club will e-mail entered wrestlers and weights no later than 7:30pm Saturday, February 25.
We will award medals to the top 4 wrestlers and will also be giving away trophies for team championships. Each club will choose 2 wrestlers from each age group to represent your club for the team championship.
Admission will be a free will donation for the Burtin family. We will be having a silent auction that day as well. I do not have concession specifics yet, but are planning to offer the normal concession fare as well as a special meal deal.
ALL money received for this tournament will be given directly to the Burtin family to assist in Kim's treatments and travel expenses, NOT JUST THE PROFITS. Kim has been a big part of our wrestling family for many years and our goal is to help her and her family all that we possibly can. Please join us for a great day of wrestling and help us help a member of our wrestling community.

The link for the tournament information is now available through the event calendar. We have handed out several fliers at various tournaments, and we would like to thank those clubs for allowing us to do that.
In addition to the information posted, I wanted to let everyone know that through our concession stand we will be offering a smoked brisket meal. We have had individuals from our community volunteer to donate Greenwood County grown beef briskets and smoke the meat for us. It promises to be fabulous!
Please plan to join us for a great day of wrestling and to help us raise money for Kim and her family as she continues treatments!

Can we use liberty nationals as a satellite Weigh in? Not a big deal I'm just wondering.

To better accommodate the teams that don't practice until Tuesday, I have extended the entry deadline to Wednesday morning. Please join us for a full weekend of wrestling for a great cause!
