How can we not have updated brackets, team scores, etc., the second each match is completed, much less hours after the last match has been completed................. The good ole boy network isn't willing to use Trackwrestling. Unbelievable.....

Agree, agree, agree. Had to step out tonight to watch that otherb winter sport. Home at 9:15 PM. Cannot find an updated bracket for any state tournament. For 6A and 5A brackets refer the fan to a Wichia South HS page---all those HS kid technicans probably went home at 3:30 PM. Even the KSHSAA online brackets are not up dated!!!

We hear alot about how good are other states' touirnaments Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, the other day we heard from Indiana. Here in Kansas we had live streaming from 321A, live streaming for 5A and 6A. Nothing for 4A. Do they not have TV stations, broadcast, streaming cappability in Salina---this is supposed to be the electronic data era.

As for the live streaming----much better than nothing----but lacks a lot. Appreciate all Fox Sports did for 5A and 6a. Hope this was a building experience for them so as to work on next years format. A few suggestions if I may:

1. Four mats per announcer is too much---don't get much more than the wrestlers name. Maybe 2 announcers/crews per each 4 mats (would require for complete announcer crews--2 for 5A and 2 for 6A.

2. Need wrestler's names on the screen for each match. One of the 321A broadcast had names (in a green box for the green leg band and a red box for the red leg band).

3. Need a separate clock and a scoreboard in each screen and match.

4. Some where have an on screen link to a set of updated brackets--perhaps pull the brackets up in the side box--scroll up or down to select a weight class, scroll left or right to swof the round in the bracket

5. Surely there is a tracking software set availabel somewhere that links 1, 2, 3, and 4 above. Perhaps each announcer crew would include a couple of data entry techs who would enter the wrestler's name to the software for the applicable mat- the software would put the name on the screen, entering the match results woul immediately update the bracket. Hardest to do would probably be the clock and scoreboard in that they are controlled at the officials tables--still, something to work on.

5. Screen size on computer screen is too small. Resize all the side boxes (advertizing) and all the banners and bands across the top and bottom of the screen.

Again, kudos, backslaps, congrats, thank yews, let me kiss your ring, etc to Fox sports.

Also, to be complete, need to be able to smell the popcorn!!

Wake up! trackwrestling.com with matside scoring. Use it or become obsolete. The tw dashboard is great for fans who live far away or cannot afford to take off from work on Friday. Parents, administrators, and coaches should demand that KSHSAA provide this type of service to our fans. I am pretty sure KSHSAA wants this but all of the support and demand coming from the grass roots would certainly help out the cause.

With all that space on the arena floor behind the championship mats, surely someone could have suggested a tri-angle scoreboard/clock.

Did not watch the last rounbds of the backside but bet the comment above concerning a scoreboard/clock also applied.

Its all the little things that make the event ore enjoyable and complete.

How about next year they hold the tourney in your living room that way you will have the best seat in the house, you will know first hand who is wrestling, you will always know the score and you wont have to worry about all these MINOR points you are trying to make.
Here's a thought how about next year you MAKE THE TRIP to Wichita. The 5A/6A coverage was awesome, but I guess some people will always find something to complain about.

Just to let know there was a live stream of the 4A tournament on Open Spaces. So all of the tournaments had live video coverage. Thank you to those people in the media who are willing to cover our state wrestling tournaments.

It was posted prior to the tournament! You apparently failed to look in the right place. The KSHSAA or any other party affiliated with the KSHSAA sponsored tournament has NO requirement or responsibility to post any link on a USAW Kansas Talk Forum.

OK, I give up Richard, where is this announcement. I've looked everywhere that I can think of. If it was announced, let's at least admit that they did a pretty poor job of getting the word out.

Thank you for your comment, but, b..e me! Was not complaining--making suggestions for next year. In the 4 or 5 years I have been posting on this forum, one thing sticks out---a whole lot of posters make negative comments but do little or nothing to improve or correct the system. Is that where you fit in?

Agree with Doug!!! Watched every post on this forum for last 2 weeks and did not see a notice about streaming the 4A. If it was there it was buried. At least 321A and 6A5A streaming were announced under their own TOPICs--with multiple posting comments which brought those TOPICs to the top of the High School page one list.

Be interesting to know just which topic 4A streaming was announced/mentioned. Give us a reference to a time, date and topic.

I agree I looked through the forum to find if it was live streamed, as I had family wrestling for a state championship, but did not see there was going to be live streaming prior to or during the tournament.

I guess thats where I fit in. "Making suggestions" for change is just a nice why of saying the way they are doing things is wrong, i.e. complaining. So I guess sitting behind a computer and criticizing the way things are done is your contribution to Kansas wrestling, When was the last time you were able to watch EVERY match at state from home, LIVE? easy to see that your the type that is never happy with what they have, always gotta have more.

The 321A and 5A/6A info was available to the forum because some individuals took the time and made the effort to look it up and post it.

Anyone could have, someone should have, done the same for 4A.

I googled, I Yahoo'd. I thought that was how you do it....I didn't do it until after the tourney, but tthat shouldn't matter, it should still show up shouldn't it?

I am happy for the attempt......but the streaming coverage stopped at the 182# class...195,220 and Heavy did not make net. Would of been nice to show it all. Bad enough the arena is almost empty during the last two matches, but the streaming stopped too.

I found the 4A streaming Sunday night. But, it was being done by a company out of Colby and they said they would be leaving the air after the last Colby wrestler in the Championship Round. I entered their stream in the 107 class--understood they wer going to stop after 4 or 5 more matches. Couldn't see the mat real well---arena turned off all the lights and then put an overhead spotlight on the mat. Announcers even said they were concerned that the bright spotlight was washing out the cameras---center of the mat was almost a blank!
