I know that a boy would wrestled match 217A from Gardner threw a fit after the match and threw down his headgear. The referee told him that he needed to calm down and warned him. He then tried to let the boy know it was o.k. by touching his sholder and the boy took the ref's hand off his shoulder and shoved it back at him. The ref said, and I quote, "That's it! You're through for the day!" He started to walk to the table, but the Gardner head coach who did the welcomes to the clubs on the microphone came by and said, I quote, "You're right! He is done. We don't act that way." Match 218 was wrestled, and before the start of match 218A, which I was watching and was in the same bracket, the Gardner head coach came back to have the boy apologize. The referee then asked the Gardner coach if he wanted him to wrestle, and the coach said it was up to him. The ref told the child that it took a good athlete to come back and apologize, and let him back in the tournament. This child placed 4th in the round robin bracket with 5 wrestlers. I think it is horrible that he gets a medal, but the child who lost 4 straight matches like a TRUE good athlete without throwing a fit, walked away with nothing. I don't think that he should have been let back in the tournament.
