Seeking input on what others feel are the best headgear or wrestling shoes and reasons supporting your views. Doe anyone have any input on new Asics Intensity with built in lace covers for youth ?

My son switched to the Tornado headgear last year and he loved it. He said he can hear alot better and they are comfortable. As far as shoes, he has always wore Asics split soles and he liks those. I have looked at the ones with the built in lace covers and other than that option, I didn't see much difference in thoses than any others. I had bought a pair of coverse shoes for him and he did not like the feel of them, said they were too thin on the bottom.

There is only one head gear. THE TORNADO! As the parents before me stated, hte kids can hear with them on. As far as shoes go the one that my son likes the best is the new UNRESTRAINED unisole by Asics. He has tried about 6 other types and brands in the last 2 years and likes this one the best. He says that it has good support.

I am wrestling high school right now but I did wrestle kids. I can tell you my parents wouldve loved to have the lace covers when I was always coming untied. Now I wear some of the new Caels, and they are by far the best shoes I have ever had.

One of my sons wears a Tornado and the other likes the old fashioned Brute Headgear that has a flatter profile. The only negative I see witht he Tornado is that many wrestlers seem to get caught in headlocks or in a postition where they aren't able to "pull their head out" because of how wide the profile is. It seems to give the opponent more leverage or grip on the head.

My son has wore the Tornado headgear ever since they have came out, he loved them. But now that he is in Jr. High he wears the Brute Quad Tech because the Tornado headgear stick out to much and he dose not want to be thrown in a head-lock. Other wise he would wear them, he thinks there great headgear.

I know that these shoes have been around a little bit but my favorite shoe so far is the Addidas Combat Speed.

The tornadoes are good and all but I like the black asics that are made of some cloth like material. And the Cael Sanderson shoes are really good.
