Just my opinion every tournament should be releasing the matrix as soon as regeneration is open. No one I know wants to travel to get one or two matches. Personally I would like to see the names also but that is because I will move my son into a higher weight class if it means better compitition. I understand some would move weight chasing the metal or trophy. But the matrix in my opinion could bring more wrestlers.

One problem with releasing the matrix would be no one would enter the tournament because everyone would be waiting to see if anyone was going. Kind of counterproductive.

Plus the dodging of higher number in certain weights.
If your kids are super small or super big you always have that risk.
Other than that you should have a good feeling about the numbers.

I think it is a good thing to release the numbers. Example.... we are signed up for a tournament that has very low 14U numbers (11) and just closed, some kids don't have anyone within 15 + pounds. Seeing this on Tuesday gives us time to try and get them into another tournament with high numbers (94) before it closes and get them some quality matches.

I don't understand why you wouldn't go to the tournament with 94 automatically. Percentage for good quality matches rises with numbers.

One is Saturday, the other is Sunday, club is going to both tournaments so the parents chose one over the other for whatever reason. When I went to register them is when I saw the matrix. I wasn't monitoring it everyday. Hence why it is good they did release the matrix so we knew one had 94 and one had 11 BEFORE brackets were released.

Also remember 14u numbers in the Wichita area will be low, starting now. Middle school wrestling starts. Some do club, others do Middle school. Can't do both.

Rossville Holiday Classic is an open tournament on Sunday and we only had 11 entries in the 14 and under age group.
We are reaching out to the kids to let them know we are canceling the 14 and under age group.
First time this has happen for us - maybe because we had to adjust to a Sunday but all other groups had great entries #'s.
