** Update On Admission **
Admission will be free to all wrestlers and children 11 & under. The passes provided in the coaches' packets will include admission paid as well. All other spectators/coaches will need to purchase the $5 admission at the gate. Once inside $10 floor passes can be purchased for those wishing to be on the floor/matside.
It is important that all teams pick up their coaches' packets Friday night during weigh-ins or before the start of the first session on Saturday, otherwise those coaches will have to pay admission to get into the arena. Unfortunately this will be enforced by the arena staff.

Few Notes
1. There is NO DOUBLE DIPPING allowed. Wrestlers entered in more than one weight class will be placed in the lower of the two (by age and/or weight) and there will be no refund given on the second registration.
2. There is NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCE. Trackwrestling had originally listed that we were giving 0.9 lb, but this is incorrect. The tournament information was incorrectly copied over from a tournament that granted the 0.9 allowance. Wrestlers will weigh-in wearing a competition singlet and will make FLAT weight.
3. Skin checks will be conducted outside of the weigh-in area. Once a wrestler passes his/her skin check, only that wrestler will be allowed into the weigh-in location. No parents will be allowed past the skin check area.
4. Doors into the arena will open @ 7:00 AM on Saturday morning. Again, we strongly suggest that those coaches able to get their packets on Friday night do so.

Forgive me if I ask a bad question. Are you doing satellite weigh ins for this tournament?

Yes, there will be satellite weigh-in locations. We are finalizing the list and will post them on a new thread on here ASAP.

Will wrestlers be able to bring in a small cooler like they were able to last year?

Wrestlers will be permitted to being in water and sports drinks. I'm sure they can probably get away with more if they're sneaky about it.

Suites will be available for rent at $250 per session:
7:00 AM to 12:00 PM - $250.00
1:00 PM to 8:00 PM - $250.00
Must purchase $5.00 tickets at box office as well.
This is strictly through the casino. Our club is in no way associated with the rental of these suites. I'm guessing they'll be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Not sure if they'll be available to claim on Friday night or not.

This tournament is looked forward to by so many kids The chance of winning a belt means a ton to these kids.
But I just want to say how disappointed I am at the people running the head table
In all of these post you talk about No Double dipping and 1st and 2nd year only true novice.
But you allowed kids to double dip and you allowed kids who have wrestled for 4 years to wrestle novice.
And when it was brought to their attention the reply was oh it's too late now, you should of told us before the bracket started but hey we can give you your money back...
No... Its YOUR job to make sure these types of things do not happen. And Im sure theres the excuse of but with 1400+ kids a few mistakes are going to happen. Ummm With all of the money you are charging... You can afford to pay someone to do that!
And just know this... I am a believer of kids who have wrestled more than one to two years still being of Novice Caliber. But we made those kids wrestle open because that was the very clear rules stated in your tournament guidelines.
Its tough that WE have to have to go explain to little Timmy AND little Johnny I know you wrestled your azz off But Sorry your not in the finals because some kids parent or COACH decided not to follow the rules and the adults running the thing are too busy to make it right! Thats a hard conversation to have with an 8 year old. Those kids should of been scratched Their matches Forfeited
And THEIR coach should have to explain to them why it went down that way.
Lastly To the Semper Fi coach... The fact that you Knowingly and Openly admitted in front of everyone to signing a kid up that had wrestled for more then 2 years (even if it was with 3 different clubs), and then uses the excuse that you had special permission, just speaks to your level of integrity!

I hear you about the frustrations of kids entering novice that shouldn't be, but this happens every tournament out there, not just this one. It happened at Gun Smoke Nationals as well, but I truly do NOT feel this should be up to the tournament directors to police this. The coaches or clubs that enter the kids should have the integrity to put the kids in the right division. And your comments about scratching the kid out of the tournament when it was brought to their attention is not the answer either. Even though the wrestler shouldn't have been in that brackets he/she is still only 8yrs old and did not make that decision and shouldn't be punished for something an adult did.
Just my opinion

Disappoint 1 child or potentially screw over the other 15.
And its not fair to that 1 child agreed But shouldnt that coach or club have to explain their actions to them instead of us to our parents and wrestlers?
And I understand smaller tournaments that say "novice". That leaves it open to discretion. But this doesnt say that... 1st and 2nd year kids only!!
And yes it is up to the tournament directors to enforce their rules and policies

I will take full responsibility for the 3 issues that were brought to our attention. I promise you that my intentions while running this tournament is not to cheat any kid. We did try and police the double dipping and we removed numerous kids from Novice prior to the tournament. I apologize to the kids and families that were effected by our oversight. I can also assure you that we had no "special arrangement" with the Semper Fi coach.
At this point, I can not go back and fix it. I can change our policies going forward. Next year our flyer will read:
NO Double Dipping!
Novice is first and second year wrestlers only!
We will eject any participant that is found to double dip or enter novice with more than 2 years of wrestling no matter when the discovery is made. No Refund will be given.
I appreciate all that attended the tournament and we will continue to try and improve going forward.
