Just was wondering if there are any more schools that are looking into having a girls division in their wrestling tournament next season, or host one? I may have some girls that only want to wrestle other girls next year and I would need to have an idea of when and where to take them.

I know that we will continue to host a girls division at the Fredonia Invitational - the last Saturday in January.

There has been some talk of possibly hosting a girls only tournament during the second weekend in December in Fredonia as well.

The four girls tournaments this year were:

Dec. 3rd - McPherson
Jan. 7th - Burlington
Jan. 28th - Fredonia
Feb. 11 - McPherson (Girls State)

I plan on advertising for a "Lady Jackets" Wrestling team next school year. I am excited to see this thing take off, as it already has!

Do the girls wrestle freestyle?

During the high school season - they wrestle folkstyle.

Opportunities for college women is freestyle right?

Bassman, yes, college women wrestle freestyle.

Great Bend will be adding a girls division to our Junior Varsity tournament on December 9th (2nd weekend in December).
