OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's wrestling team is sending five student-athletes, which is the most in program history, to the 62nd Annual Wrestling National Championships. They are Ryan Delforge, Micah Miller, John Reina, Chance Schooler, and Santino Gee.
Reina, a junior from Garden City, NY., has qualified in the 149 pound weight class. He is 5-2 overall, has a record of 2-2 in duals, and has a record of 2-2 in duals. Reina won the 149 pound weight class at the KCAC Championships.
Schooler, a senior from Princeton, Kan., earned his second straight trip to nationals and is competing in the 285 pound weight class. He is 13-5 overall, has a record of 5-0 in duals, and has a total of three falls this season. Schooler earned All-KCAC honors with his fourth place finish at the KCAC Championships.
Gee, a freshman from Lawrence, Kan., earned a wildcard selection to the national tournament in the 184 pound weight class. He has an overall record of 12-7, four falls, and is 3-5 in duals. Gee earned All-KCAC honors with his second place finish at the KCAC Championships.
Delforge, a junior from Valley Center, Kan., qualified in the 157 pound weight class. He has a record of 17-6, is 5-1 in duals, and has one technical fall and five falls. Delforge was also the KCAC Champion in the 157 pound weight class.
Miller, a sophomore from Endicott, N.Y., will compete in the 174 pound weight class at nationals. He has a record of 11-3 on the season. Miller is 5-0 in duals has one technical fall and four falls. He is the KCAC Champion in the 174 pound weight class.
The national championships will be held March 1-2 at the Jacobson Exhibition Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
