To allow for an the growth in girls' wrestling at the state tournament, and to provide the flexibility to increase some of the mat sizes, this year's schedule will include Friday competition for the 14U & High School divisions. More information on revised Friday weigh-in times and the competition schedule will be coming soon!

How can you just up and change it this late in the year? Assuming what we seen on Facebook is correct with the agenda. 14u and high school kids will have to be there at noon-2pm to weigh in. First off you asking parents and coaches to pull the kids out of school for an entire day if not an extra day. It will also cost several people and extra day of traveling which means missing work for an extra day also extra cost in hotels and food. Also what’s fair for one should be fair for all. How can you weigh in these group of kids and except them to compete 3 hours later but give the other kids almost 16 hours?
If you going to make the high school kids and 14u kids wrestle on Friday why not weigh them in Thursday night? Why not put mats in expo hall? There is plenty of room in there for at least 4 mats. Or why not move the high school kids and girls to a different day entirely?
We all get Kansas wrestling has out grown are state as there is not a venue that can handle the volume of wrestlers with girls growing. But there has to be a better way that what your proposing. Maybe you should host a meeting and actually listen to concerns!
