I agree. Especially since High School Students rarely have credit cards. Unless i'm showing my age? That said, i'm glad Newton sent the memo. Looking forward to another good tournament at Newton.

What determines how many kids get seeded at each weight? Some are 8, some are more than 8 I seeded the tournament. The mandate was seed the top 8 unless more were needed. I determined to seed 9 at 106 and 10 at 126. There was a seeded scratch at 113, so they seeded 7 there. I suggested to add an 8 seed but they kept it at 7. Hope that helps!

At what point are more needed? A lot of weights have quality kids with terrible draws At 126 it was "at that point" of #9 and #10 as clearly being seedable. In fact, those two could have very well been seeded much higher, though lacked criteria. At 106, the 9th seed just lost to the 8th seed and had credentials to be seeded. Absolutely, the 8 seed "mandate" affected brackets. So would 10 seeds or 12 seeds. When you draw in any amount of wrestlers, there are "terrible" draws that happen, knowing "terrible" and "a lot" are subjective.

At what point are more needed? A lot of weights have quality kids with terrible draws 10 of 14 weights have all seeded wrestlers in quarters. Three have 7 of 8 and 120 has 6 of 8. That's above the average of most 8 seed tournaments. Seeds are not predictions. Upsets are expected and great to see!
