The real easy bracket at Park City was 90lbs. I guess only three wrestlers showed up. They have listed Miles Brown as 4th but I understand that he didn't even attend. Only six wrestlers signed up and apparently only three showed up

I think 105 was pretty difficult...Justin Rose and Zach Peters made it to the finals... Both wrestled well in high school

I believe for the Classic the seeding was done using a formula. If I remember right, at the coaches meeting on Saturday morning, it was stated that seeds were based on the criteria provided on the entry form. Number of years wrestled, ranking, number of state quals, placings, championships, etc were considered. If you did not provide the requested criteria then you may have gotten a bad seed. When I first saw the brackets I was surprised by some of the seeding but after this explanation it seemed to make sense. Someone can correct me if I misunderstood that.

Cokeley u said that there were only 3 kids in the 90lb bracket but there was a kid that came down from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma who wrestled Steven Plott in the finals so 3 out of the 2 were tough.

Cokeley i know you said that there were only 3 wrestlers in the bracket but one kid came from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and wrestled Steven Plott from Salina in the finals. So 2 of the 3 were quality wrestlers.

I didn't say the three kids were not quality wrestlers. You have to agree that the bracket is weak when you consider there were nearly 16 wrestlers in both 85 and 95. They didn't even rebracket to have a round robin. Someone only got one match for the day. That is not what you would expect from this tournament. I expect Plott to challenge for a state championship. Williams finished 2nd in Oklahoma at 86 and I think Duncan finished in the top 6 as well. No high school wrestlers like you find in most of the other 14&under classes. There were three in 85!!

ohhh its ok i wasnt trying to attack you or anything, you are right saying that in that bracket that it was alot weaker than all the others, but there were still some quality kids in there that would have done well even w/ a bigger bracket. 85 was very tough and so was about 95 and on up. sorry about that if you felt attacked.

Nathan Reed is a strong kid who is a pretty good wrestler. Nathan pretty much walked through his frist two matches then he and Hanson (Sunflower Kids) wrestled in Hays and Hanson beat him 7-1.

I would have to say that Mitchell Means is the best in 14 and under. He wrestled up for high school and got to experience one of the toughest weight classes. AND PLACED! 140 is tough in high school. He lost only 9-4 against Brett Hoshaw who is also a great wrestler. I think that any of these three kids, If they were to wrestle each other would be a good match. To bad we might be able to only see 2 of them face off at state!

Dont forget Cole Zoglman from garden plain. Probably should have been state champ, but tried to throw Collin Hase, and got countered through because he didnt settle his hips. Have watched and wrestled him all year and have seen him make one mistake, the aforementioned. Very solid wrestler, would not be surprised to see him as a 3x'er if he sticks with it.
