I was at the Ottawa 6u State championships and I was most impressed by the 43lb bracket and the competion was great the ones you expected to win like Parenti and Green they had a good showing and wrestled great I was most impressed with Herrera, Anderson(toward the end gave it his all), but the shocker was Chanute's Turner. This kid came out of no where and was a match away from championship match.
I've seen this kid at previous torneys where he has taken first, and in my opion was the most impresive,I think he will be a force to be reckoned with next season. And I spoke with his parents there and he is only 39 lbs wrestling 43, Also Schroder was impresive at a mere 5 years old.

From the father of the wrestler beat in Anderson's last match, he did a great job. Down 12-0 and to get a pin in period 3 when he was on his back the whole first 2 periods. Great come back and a tough way to end a wrestlers year, but all I could say to Jonny was you have to remember to focus the whole match and why do we forget to run a half when that's the focus for 80% of our year.
I agree that the 43 lb bracket was great. Congrats to Beeson on 1st place. Turner was impressive, we saw him at his first tourney in Fredonia, he's got a lot of raw talent. Hope all is well with the Hitchcock family, I heard Tanner was a no show due to family emergency after wrestling in Districts?

All the kids did a great job. I hope all is well with the hitchcocks. And good luck to all the kids next year. Any predictions for next year? Front runners for 43lbs if any stay in this bracket Schroder, Turner, Parenti, Green, Hitchcock, Coltrane, Herrera, Anderson , Beeson, . Although all of the other are good wrestlers these are kids that stand out in my eyes.

Jake Beeson has one more year at 6U, and Schroder has two more years in 6U. How many of the remainding kids from this bracket will still be in 6U next year?

turner will be in 8 and under!

Does any one know who else may be following Turner in 8 u. Hitchcock? Him and Turner went at in 8u subs, and Turner gave him a fight til he was pinned in 3rd period. I'd like to see that match again, as well as turner and green. All those kids are scrappers.

Coltrane will be 8U, we're hoping to put some meat on those skinny arms and legs. Porter from Columbus is a good wrestler and will be 6U for another year. I believe Hitchcock will be 8U, can't believe Beeson will still be 6U, he and Shroder are going to be unbelievable next year.

Talk about a heartbreaker!! My son - Jordan Priddy - wrestled Turner his second match at Ottawa. The time keeper was having trouble actually keeping time and the boys wrestled 4 minutes instead of 3. At the end of 3 minutes Jordan had Turner beat 14 to 11. At the end of 4 minutes Turner pulled out a few extra points to win the match 19 - 17!! Not to take anything away from Turner he sure is a scrapper!!
Also - any results from yesterdays state tourney for this bracket?? I'm interested to see how everyone did!

Congrats to the state placers and all the finalists. This is a great weight class this year. Congrats to Hitchcock and Beeson, the wrestlers we've seen this year.

I talked to a couple of the dads and Jake is the only one out of that bunch that will be 6U next year. These are the kids I know will be 6U next year from this state bracket. Caleb Bartel, Brycen Schroeder, and Daniel Herrera. There may be a couple more but I'm not sure. Congratulations to all the wrestlers out there for finshing a long and exciting season.

Will any of these kids be wrestling freestyle this summer?

Jacob will between baseball practice and baseball games. He really enjoyed the freestyle matches at state and would love to be able to throw someone, as long as he doesn't get thrown.

Brycen will not be participating in freestyle. His is going to be playing t-ball and is looking forward to the break! Wrestling season is a bit long for a little guy!

I don't know if the Schroeder family checks this site but - we sat by you guys at the Ottawa tourney and I was just wondering if you happened to find a black GameBoy SP laying around after we left? (We were right beside you guys in front of the table that was attached to the bleachers.) That thing is lost more than it is found!!
